I prefer the “brunette” Leffe … but both are good!
Also they do a very low alcohol version of Ghost Ship at 0.5 Abv. Tastes almost as good as the real thing.
Yesterday I consumed a few of these at the old codgers, sorry, old work colleagues reunion.
As Advent calenders go
I did indeed, and very happy too!
This evening is another level , plus a couple of Hobgoblin Gold cooling on the garage floor… well… I do need a bit of liquid to swill those peanuts down!
Merry Christmas to one and all.

So, since this is the beer thread I’ll ask a Q. to those in Scotland.
Can you still get Caledonian 80 shilling/Edinburgh Castle) up there?
I know the brewery closed down and Belhaven were to take over the brewing, but I can find no information as to whether they still produce it or not.
I know Belhaven made (and still make) their own 80 shilling, but it was never the same as the Caledonian.
Absolutely . I was also fortunate to sample the " 10% Last Drop " from said brewery.
(thankyou Malcolm)
Sadly, Irvings, the brewery , is no more.
Well this is different, a bourbon barrel aged Swiss Style Celebration Lager at 14.1% from Hoppin’ Frog of Akron Ohio. Bourbon definitely comes through so possibly reminiscent of a barrel aged stout except it’s a lager…
As far as I can make out Belhaven (owned by Greene King) is brewing ‘Caledonian’ Deuchars IPA at Dunbar. The GK website implies they are also brewing Coast to Coast pale ale but makes no mention of the 80/-.
I adored Deuchars, I think the last one I had was probably in the Oxford in 2019.
