I promised myself a decent acoustic guitar years ago. I’ve got an old Yamaha which I had as a teen to start with but it was horrible to play then and it still is. the Taylor Academy 10 has been on the short list for a while, what’s the experience with the Academy 12? Is that just a bit smaller ?
The guitar is slightly smaller than her Washburn, but when she plays it she says it feels a lot smaller. The Taylor is roughly an inch shorter in the scale but they both have 20 frets. She finds the Taylor a bit harder to play because her original guitar teacher lowered the action on the Washburn so it’s closer to her Strat whereas the Taylor is as it came from the factory. You can get an electro acoustic version, the academy 12e, but she wanted just the acoustic version.
Crikey, you were brave
The only problem with that is that our roadie is already moaning about his back, so maybe as we have two bass players we could take in turn to look after the groupies. Just a thought though, in these strange times can we be sure they will always be female, you know, inclusiveness and all that .
Just a little story of roadies and groupies, when I was the drummers roadie for Iron Maiden, my mum said to me that she had been telling everyone that I was a groupie for Iron Maiden, she didn’t know the difference
I’ll bring a flask of ‘special’ mushroom soup. I’ll be fine. Do I have to carry the bass cab up the stairs or can I fly them up?
Hello Wembley!
Pssssst… We’re at the O2.
I’ve been thinking about my bass cab, at the moment it is a choice between a Fender Rumble 15 or a Vox Pathfinder 10, neither of those are going to cut it so it looks like I’ll have to get something massive
I like the way you think…
You Sir think big…I like that…
Hey Wrinkly…we will mic you up…our PA system is massive! If we play the O2 for our first gig they will hear you in Birmingham!!
4 more for the set list
Radar Love
In the Pines, Ledbelly or Nirvana acoustic set both are great
Cut across shorty
Paint it black
Oh Yes! Radar Love…killer guitar riff!
Paint it Black was amongst the first songs I learned on guitar along with All or Nothing…those were the days my friend.
We are NOT doing any Mary Hopkins.
I wondered if anyone would pick that up!!
So I can say “Hello Birmingham” when we’re in London, great stuff.
If we did Radar Love, will Bren15, our drummer, jump over his kit?
Will a hydraulic lift kit fit on a zimmer frame?
Guys!
We have a band…we have a great set list…but we don’t have a name!!
Answers on a postcard…and remember we don’t want suing!
You better ask him!
hmmm
