Drove out to a Cheshire pub for a meal, and discovered their car club was meeting tonight.
Cars included the lovely old Mini, a TVR, and 1972 BMW CSI, a beautiful old Italian Alfa Romeo, and an old . As well as a couple of “Italian cousins” (Fiat 124 Spider). And lots of friendly car enthusiasts!
Our white rose among the thorns in the new carpark of Belsay Hall, as we celebrate what was probably the most pleasant day of 2024 so far here in Northumberland. We passed 2x Fivers en route, one waved enthusiastically the other not at all.
I hope this is acceptable , but this was last Thursday . We went to Diddly Squat Farm for a run out in the MX 5. We have had the week off and made the most of out freetime , between chores and helping poorly friends to hit the tarmac !! So far we have had the car 2 months and are just coming up to the same miles the previous owner did a year in it for the last 4 years ! Its proving to be a decent car and happy with it now I have sorted its niggles.
To a site meeting in Worthing. Shout out to the other AE30RF going west on the A24 who flashed.
Got “roof-shamed “ by the builder and client. So I had to drive back to Winchester top down and fried to a crisp!
Gurston Down Hillclimb School a few weeks ago piggybacking on the Solent Area’s event. I can see why Gurston has a reputation as a fast hill - not in an MX5 probably (not mine anyway) but in a single seater. Loved the Karousel to Ashes complex. A great day out - nice to meet Art_Tidesco there too!
Harewood Speed Hill School last week. Very different from Gurston - fab venue and another great day out - highly recommended. Special thanks to Rodders for fixing my car so I could go having broken the exhaust at Prescott the week before
Mallory Park with Sheffield Hallamshire MC. My first visit to the venue and I think I eventually decided I liked the track. Nice to meet Art_Tidesco and Madge again!
So far the Winter keeps giving us lovely days for a drive. Only 12ºC but the wife and I wrapped up and headed down the coast for an ice cream! Just above the left rear view mirror you can see a keen surfcaster up to his middle in the sea.
