Where have you been in your MX-5 today?

Copdock on Thursday as extra man for cricket…Vincent’s on Friday for clutch install and alignment and Roxwell rally yesterday. Met some MX-5 enthusiasts at the rally.

Run out today in the north Pennines - Pics are between Rookhope in County Durham and Allenheads in Northumberland (about 1765 ft at the highest point on the road). This road forms a small part of the ‘Northumberland 250’ route. Really nice weather and pretty empty roads. Lunch stop at the Hemmel Cafe in Allenheads (1325 ft above sea level).

Great day at Cadwell Park for Round 4 of the javelin sprint … started out with the packed baffle in the new GWR street single but only tested 88db so that came out and the rest of the day was a bit more vocal … loved it

23rd July actually. Went for a lovely cross-country drive to Winchelsea. The Boss says I took her there 40 years ago when we were dating - what a memory.

To the Hillclimb event at Fintray in Aberdeenshire where I was marshalling and MX-5’s were well represented in the competitors.

Cold, wet, curvaceously slippery with added drizzle and liquified sheep “lubricant” ; Oh yes, exploding bonnet not withstanding …

That looks a cracking road! Whereabouts is it?

Canolbarth Cymru, that bit is around Llyn Brianne Reservoir & Dam.

Love that route! From Baitings going up to Cragg Vale turn right just after baitings and you get some right decent views. Well worth it.

Took the MX-5 to get an MX-5 inspired tattoo…

8 hours later…

Nice 25 mile spin along some backroads near me.

Afternoon trek in Scottish Borders and Northumberland. Jedburgh to Bonchester Bridge then on to Kielder, Bellingham (lunch at the excellent Fountain Cottage Cafe) and back up the A68. Roads all very quiet today. Best bits are the B6357 from Bonchester Bridge over the hill to the Kielder turnoff, then the road alongside Kielder Water to Bellingham. Very good surfaces in the main (especially alongside Kielder Water).
