Where have you been in your MX-5 today?

Midweek break in the Lincolnshire Wolds.

Super smooth driving roads around Cadwell Park and a tootle down the coast today - 17 degrees and top down. The locals have an eclectic mix of vehicles.

(It’s a 1948 Bristol)

Ah very nice! Yep, know where you are as we have family in that neck of the woods.

I’m sure I’ve seen that Bristol before too.

On Saturday drove to Lower Bradfield, a few miles past Hillsborough. A really lovely spot and had a pint at the Old School House and Bistro. Feels like proper Yorkshire, sun was out and we sat overlooking the bowling green and the cricket pitch. Parked behind this really nice white NC.

Trip to Lidl for chicken nuggets and chips.

Returned with a heat gun, a multimeter and a telescopic magnetic wand for picking up the bits I lose in the engine bay.

@PuffyPinkPanda - All good kit, particularly the telescopic magnet wand, carried one on motorcycles and in cars for decades, worth your vehicles weight in gold if you have dropped your ignition key down a drain out in the back of beyond…!

Nice little run out with the latest wife to just enjoy the car, sunshine and check all is good. Ran fine, no issues. Just getting used to the quieter exhaust tone with the manifold cat as the only downside . Contemplating putting the catless manifold on for the year and swapping back for MOT … But that’s an expensive solution.

I owe a big thank you to @Dutchie for today’s outing … his posting last week put “The Schoolrooms” in Low Bradfield onto my map (https://www.theschoolrooms.co.uk/). So Lovely Other Half and I drove out there for a thoroughly enjoyable Sunday lunch today. Cracking drive out over the Snake Pass and the Strines road, then a gentle pootle homewards via Castleton and Edale.

Run in the sun over to the coast at Lytham. Fish and chips and a wander round the Hall and gardens, then an equally sunny run back home :sunglasses:.

Only a parked up, top up photo taken

The Berkeley’s looking great! Although you should check the tyres are on the correct sides of the car. The tread looks like its directional and has been switched left to right.they will have a direction arrow embossed in the sidewall.

Monthly BVAC (Borders Vintage Automobile Club) breakfast meet at Milestone Garden Centre near St Boswells. Very wide selection of cars today - pretty much took over the car park for a couple of hours. Nice run back with a quick stop beside the river Tweed at Kelso.

Was tempted to take my ND out, as the roads were bone dry. But last week there was a lot of salt down, and we only had one heavy bout of rain, lasting about 1/2 day. Not enough to wash it away, if one is sad like me and worries about such stuff. Checked the disks behind the wheel covers, and they’re still nice and clean. So it stayed put :slightly_frowning_face:

Hi Jacob, tyres are Uniroyal Rainsports. Asymmetrical not directional. Fitted with outside markers on outside as they should be. Can be fitted anywhere on car provided ‘outside’ rule followed. Regards Ray

Nice little drive around some lovely Wiltshire country lanes and discovering villages.

I’ve just checked pics of my Rainsport 3s and now I’m really befuddled.

It seems counterintuitive but you’re right. They can go either direction. It’s explained here: How to fit your RainSport 3 tyres: The flow-optimised tread design is unique
On mine I have Yokohama’s that are directional and stamped left for left, right for right. Every day’s a schoolday.

I see what you are thinking, but if you take one tyre and put it on the other side the center grooves will be in the opposite direction.

Fitted correctly, just like mine :+1:

Just a quick hour through the local twisties. It’s Sunday so there is always some Herbert’s about that aren’t quite sure what a white line is for.

Only missed one day having a drive this winter. A few days it’s been the PRHT up, but it feels quite cosy rather than coffin- like now I’m used to it.
