Experience has taught me never to believe anything a car salesman says! A picture is worth a thousand words and a walk round video would have saved you a load of time, although he may have been reluctant to send one given the state of that car.

I’ve always thought that car salesmen would make great politicians!
can I do yesterday ?
In which case it was Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France and the UK.
What a coincidence, I did that as well! ![]()
The salt had pretty much gone where I am, but a bit more rain last night and this morning, helped my ‘brain’. So given this time of year everything starts to dry up much more quickly, I had a nice spin.
As @martin says, this wasn’t today but it is the first chance I’ve had to post the video so please forgive me!
This is a video taken of my two laps of the Nürburgring, using my phone mounted on the dash. It was my first time there, driving Project Merlot II, and I was overtaken a lot! I stayed over to the right most of the time, and only occasionally on the second lap felt confident enough to go onto the racing line and risk getting in the way of the incredibly fast cars that were also on the track. It’s an incredible place, and wonderfully easy to get access to. If you ever get the chance to do it, do it!
I’ll update www.projectmerlot.com with more recent developments, including it’s maiden European trip with @martin, @Roadster_Robbie & @Mister_H soon.
Nipped over to Marsden, where we found a perfect parking spot. Notice the chippy? And a few doors up, the pub? With outdoor tables, in the sunlight? So, a pint and some fish and chips in the sunshine.
Thats a lovely looking car!
Hey Nick … I thought it was you I saw you taking the pic , I had nipped into the village for some bacon for bacon butties in the morning watching the Grand Prix …… shame I didn’t get to say hi fella …… glad you had a good time in our village ![]()
Some colours just work with a bit of polishing. That’s a great example. My ‘Galaxy Grey’ could never look as eye-popping good as that no matter how much love applied.
On the plus side it just needs a a quick wipe over to look presentable. Unless there is extra seagull activity , five minutes a day and I’m looking spruce goose👍
After a drive out and breakfast at the Baytree garden centre - scene of several OC visits - we carried on a short distance to Stow Hall gardens.
Safety in numbers…
We were a bit early in the season, but will definitely be back in a few months when things come into bloom.
Starts tomorrow from Berkshire to circumnavigate the NC500.
Car is ready, luggage arguments still in hand ![]()
Will try and put daily pictures up. We are aiming for Kendal for tomorrow night, so wish us luck.
With our luck in cars at the moment , I have turned to prayers ![]()
Had a trip to
Pistyll Rhaeadr Waterfall via Llangollen yesterday. I took some beautiful off the beaten track roads to get there, quite a few were single track.
Along one of them I pulled up right next to a Hawk that was perched on a fence post. I was about two feet away from him.
He flew off before I could take a picture. Not to worry I thought, he will be on my dashcam.
Well, I have just found out/realised that with a 32GB SD card, I only get about 4 hours of footage before it is recorded over.
Alas no picture of the hawk.
Instead, I have got a nice picture of the onward journey on to Bala from my deshcam.
Sorry to have missed meeting you, Kevin. We thoroughly enjoyed Marsden. And thank you for the kind comments, stephen (car is at its spring post-waxing shiniest at the moment!)
Been to Elgin for a car & coffee day with some gorgeous cars on display. Then to Buckie for the same. Couple of MX5’s there. Stopped in by Portsoy on way home. Taking SWMBO out in car later for supper as she’s been at work today poor thing.
