Most of it was like this though. The only reason to slow down is to ogle the view. My only worry was scraping the underside of the car but it never happened
I do love driving my ND and seeing the design of the wings curving down to the bonnet. Bloooody lovely
Dried up nicely, but clouds looming. Haven’t had salt for an easy 3 weeks (and then it was a one-off, with a good fortnight free before that), plus it’s hammered down literally every day since. So took it for a spin, as it’s good to get the disks orange free. Was surprised it was 5 degrees C. Top was down but of course it isn’t supposed to be lowered or raised below that. As it was semi rush hour, I got caught out as it started spitting. I was scared. Managed to get back with rain not progressing beyond a wiper blast every min or so. Panic attack over. Top back up, still not lower than 5 degrees. Half cover and wheel covers on. The neighbour seemed not to understand when I told her I was scared as it started spitting with rain as I was driving it. Still, she was alright really as I had a DPD parcel for her.
“still not lower than 5 degrees”
The last time we had that here was last summer!!
Did your neighbour not offer to take you in and dry you off in front of the log burner?
No log burner, thankfully ![]()
I suppose they wouldn’t be your neighbour if they did would they. ![]()
Nice drive to Churchtown with the top down. Had lunch and visited the shops, first a visit to The Dram and picked up a peaty whiskey, then to a deli for cheese and crackers, lastly a visit to the chocolatier.
No, they would be told to either remove the credit card/painted fence bits/tangerine crates burner or move, and if choosing the later option, they would be required to remove the random product burner before finally handing the keys to the estate agent.
Sounds nice. Can’t get my taste buds around a peaty whisky though. More of a speyside man myself.
Mmmmm. Peaty Whisky. Love it. Laphroaig and Smokehead in particular.
Everywhere……….
The sun came Out.. what more do you have to say?
A trip to Screwfix in the rain - the joys of a Sunday!
I went the long way round using the country lanes as much as possible - so silver linings and all that ![]()
Bentley probably a plasterer. Have you seen how much they charge?
Not quite on this occasion, think of someone you might see down the golf club… ![]()
I stand corrected. That will be a plumber then……
A quick run out at lunchtime over to Oulton Park. Saw a few MX-5s heading round during a track day.
They were lucky with the weather too! Was due to be raining here today, but turned out crisp and bright. Perfect top down weather ![]()
I’m a tutor with my local RoSPA advanced drivers group. And yesterday, a dry sunny day, I gave myself a little treat and drove the MX-5 to get there (rather than “the big sensible car”). It is only about five miles, so I drove down there the long way round, with a biiiig smile on my face the whole way!
Well that was a good day……
Took the car out of hibernation last night and decided to go out for a spot of lunch today. Ended up going to Plockton which is literally the other side of Scotland from where we are. Round trip of 331 miles! Came home via Glen Sheil, Eilean Donan castle, Loch Ness and Grantown on Spey. What a great run. Left home at at 9am and got home at 8.30pm. We were out so long we had to stop for dinner aswell! Roof down all the way and, of course, little Molly ran like a dream.
