Where have you been in your MX-5 today?

We set out for Melton Mowbray market this morning but ended up in Ashbourne?? B***** road closures we gave up, got back on route towards Derby. It was a decent drive out though, our first in the ND for weeks, ended up near Burton upon Trent for lunch:grin:

First proper run of the year. Home to Rothbury for lunch (hot beef ciabatta with chips and gravy) then Alnwick, Seahouses, Bamburgh and back (about 120 miles). Lovely weather and dry roads. Good test for some new parts I’ve fitted over winter - braided brake lines, upper wishbones, track rod ends, upper and lower trailing links (and new lower trailing link bushes) plus rear upper lateral arm - all with new fasteners. Car certainly feels much more taught and less harsh than it has for a while. Probably will replace remaining arms at some point.

No pics, early morning drive to take a friend to a private hospital, took him down the country roads from Formby to Renacres Lane. He soon remembered one of his partners owning an NB and thoroughly enjoying that motor.

My wife says she’s not sure about the gravy on a ciabatta, I tend to agree with her. Must be a northern thing, although a ciabatta isn’t very northern, surely?

Northern Italy maybe?

Lucky time. Salt non existent after all the rain rain and rain, so had a nice spin last Tuesday on nice, dry roads. Today nice too. Another nice spin. 2 spins in 4 days…in Feb!

I agree. Many on the forum would agree with you, too

Gravy is nice on just about anything - a bit too much beef to fit on a bread roll/bap (maybe a ‘stottie’ where we were in Northumberland would be a better choice) but it was very nice anyway.

Out of the garage, at last

Of course it could be a bit of both Northumberland and Italy, I heard that apparently the lads on Hadrian’s Wall in AD 122 often enjoyed a ciabatta in their snap box…!

Not with gravy though.

Took an evening run over to the Great British Car Journey yesterday, for a live event. No MX-5 specific content, although there were a few lurking in the dark carpark!

So have some general content including a Lotus Esprit and an MGB GT V8 instead :hugs:

We were there last year, a Sunday morning Japanese car event. Found a mate to park next to, I think it was the organisers sons car, about 3 more Mx-5’s turned up later.

First top down run of the year, the weather wasn’t great but at least it wasn’t raining!
