Where have you been in your MX-5 today?

You know what, Rob, I have ummed & ahhed all day to the point my wife has got fed up and decided to have an early night (could be Euros-related, perhaps). I took my youngest out for a spin this evening and while my head said SELL, my heart shouted KEEP.
But I’ve been here before - sold my 2009 Honda S2000 in 2016 as prices were at an all time high and made money from it, but regretted it ever since! The S2k may be a rare beast nowadays but I’m confident can always get another mx5, as you say, perhaps in deepest winter!

The Motorway bid was the clincher for me - it was an absolute no brainer to sell at that price. Now looking for a Mk1 as per wanted thread and pocketing some change will come in handy.

I get that, but think the one question you should ask yourself is, Do you need to sell? or feel you should sell? It’s a difficult balance I know… Easy for me, unmarried, no kids, so easier decision…!
They do say with convertibles, buy in winter, and sell in the summer…!
Rob

The latter, without doubt - I will be in profit and have to view it as a transactional decision, albeit an emotive one

Motorway certainly are offering good money. Here’s the figures on mine.

Late 2015 car, bought at 2.5 years old with 12k on the clock and I paid £16k.

Now 3 and a bit years on and with 20k on the clock they are offering £15,054.

Even more interesting we bought a 19 month old Nissan Qashqai in January. We have only put around 600 miles on it due to Covid but five months later they are offering £176 more than we paid.

Tour of sunny Derbyshire again today, parked up at Cat and Fiddle for a walk. Then meal at The Barrel Inn near Tideswell. Fantastic food and service.

Up to Longsleddale valley for a long lunch with friends and a short walk.
Three 5’s, not one wave back.
Rude, just rude…

Used to holiday as a kid in Garnet Bridge. Beautiful area.

Was hoping to go for a spin on some earends later. However, ‘da council’ are unfortunately doing some ‘work’ nearby which puts a damper on things. I say ‘work’, as this basically entails a bit of kangoing and a check on the phone, with legions of them standing around, you guessed it, on their phones.

Way to go TerryM1! My wife did the same three years ago. 2003 1.8. She loves it and occasionally allows me to drive it. BTW, she’s 76. Gets loads of smiles at Sainsburys when she rolls up with the top down. Richard W

I went for a short drive around the countrsyside just outside Southport, Scarisbrick, Bescar to name a few. Roof down cooled me down just before the heavens opened!

Did a similar route a while back and caught it on my cam if anyone is interested in a POV drive. https://youtu.be/YC2qcD-hAN0

Note, no speed limits were broken on that clip!
