Where have you been in your MX-5 today?

Not sure how many would want to see the route but since last year I decided to make video diary of interesting things and places I visit. I have to warn you this particular video is fairly long, but i do have timestamps in the description if you want to skip to certain parts of the video. There are some other videos as well and more videos will be added this year.

Same road different day. I really enjoyed the staircase, traction control off and a bit of rubber left behind. Had to be done though.

Fantastic 4 hour afternoon run across Mid Wales today. Left Newport, Shropshire about 2pm and arrived home at Haverfordwest just after 6. Beautiful clear blue skies and low winter sun combined with great views and some lovely twisty roads. Roof down all the way until the sun went down when we reached Llandovery. Who says the MX5 is only for summer driving? 160 miles and saw only one other MX5! A big hello to the white NC who flashed me, travelling North at Dorrington on A49 south of Shrewsbury.
Great fun, car running beautifully, all the better for a good long run. - Zoom Zoom!

A run to Leek, Staffs then from there to Buxton, nice drive on A53 through Blackshaw Moor and Flash Bar. Lunch in Buxton returning via Ashbourne back to Derby.
Old pic but same scenery.

Fabulous weather in Frome yesterday, so just had to take advantage of it.

Just went out for a couple of hours of joyous topless motoring, sampling the delights of crispy cold sunshine and farmyards !

Just glad the PRHT worked properly, as I hadn’t used it for weeks.

Roll on Spring !

Love the Area, when I post pics of “down on the farm” that’s where we are.

So… I’m looking at the weather outside… glorious sunshine. Obviously its weekday so I’m working…

Typical… :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

North Chingford to Finchingfied, treated my friend to a pub lunch ar The Fox Inn for his birthday. Got three waves from other MX-5 owners. My friend (drives RS4 MY2007) couldn’t believe the community spirit from MX-5 drivers. Car drove brilliantly…gave it a quick wash when back and now back in the garage.

Booked today as holiday when it looked like the weather would be good - it was! Basingstoke to Mudeford (Christchuch) on the back roads with the top down - fantastic. Freshly cooked fish and chips from Alexander’s, eaten overlooking the harbour. 60 plate silver NC seen in the car park.

Hard top off and drive down to Lymington for a cup of tea. Expensive as I got zapped by un unmarked van on the way out!

Not actually today, it was yesterday but I’ve only had a chance to post now.
Took the ND to EMG Cambridge to get a service and MOT using their discount that’s listed in the back of Soft Top Hard Top, unfortunately needed two front tyres as they were perished, but I knew that was coming and I really need to change the rears.

@ Elan Valley, Wales

On the way to the valley, the A4413 in Ludlow, is really good…

How was their service? taking my ND there for major one in a couple months so would interested to know if they done a good job

We had a spin out to Orford in Suffolk, lid down of course , the weather improved during the day.
Had tea and cake in the tea hut over looking the quay, wandered up to the church and castle, and then drove home the scenic route to hang it out, blooming work tomorrow

Is all your life in black and white?

Their service was very good, they phoned me promptly about the front tyre problem and didn’t push it about the advisories on the rears. When you book the service tell them you are a club member and take your card with you, they scan a copy of it and you do get a discount as I checked it against where I took it last year, they gave me the choice of whether I wanted it washed which I did and it was a pretty good job. They do all the Covid safe stuff if you’re concerned about that. We didn’t ask for a courtesy car as we took the bus into Cambridge which was about 15 minutes, first time we’ve been on a bus for about 40 years.

I had loads of fun at Elan Valley on Saturday.

Sometimes maybe a bit too much fun, if there is such a thing…

Love the boat pic. Hope you don’t mind…

Will delete if you do !

Yep , well I’m a B&W fan probably due to my years of using film , which I still use on occasions , it’s become a habit, although I like colour as well :grinning:
