Willwood 6 pot calipers

  1. My model of MX-5 is: __nd 2.0
  2. I’m based near: __
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __any one on here have the willwood 6 pot calipers fitted on there Nd I read that they have no retaining springs so as they wear the pads start rattling. just wondering if anyone can confirm this

Do you want them for show or better brakes.

If show that’s fine
If performance then there is no better than AP racing as used on our race cars

I’ve no experience of that exact caliper, but… in general,6 pots can **** off. It’s a solution looking for a problem, there’s almost no benefit in smaller brakes which these are. In return they’re more likely to have uneven application of the pad, and there’s more seals to go wrong. You can do clever things with piston size but I’m pretty sure the wilwoods are equal size

(motorbikes learned this lesson back in about 1996, pushbikes and the aftermarket industry are still selling “but 2 more”)
