Purchased my 2012 Black edition in August 2020 with plans to travel to Europe, that obviously hasn’t happened, but It can’t be long now before I can, surely? Where is the MX5 owners Covid vaccination passport?
The few runs I have had have been fantastic having waited until I was 60 to get the car I have been dreaming of for many a year. Can’t wait to roll Her/Him out of the garage again.
Photo please?
You sure it was for the wife…?!
It was to start with

That’s what we have to say.
Just really dipping our toes into being on the forum and owning our superb 2016 ND 2.0 Sport nav…
We bought it November 2019 and luckily as it’s our 2nd car it’s not just parked up… Fortunately we have been allowed at least a few decent drives when the big orange thing was out, my only wish is that we could have purchased one years ago. Has to be the best car I’ve ever owned , and the nearest experience to owning a motorcycle
Hello and welcome to the MX5OC forums. Glad you have been able to use your ND during these difficult times… Pics welcome
Bought my 07 2.0 Sport in July 2020. Because I am shielding I went and viewed, and admired, the car from several paces. I had to summon my 6’6’’ son to the address to test drive it. He said he loved it and on that basis I parted with my money. Despite forever (it seems) being required to shield I have managed 1700 miles. I am 69 years old and I desperately regret not buying an MX5 many many years ago. I love the car and I love the drive. It has made an older man very happy. (and my son and grandson who love ‘stealing it off the drive when they can.’ ) I look forward to attending the two venues for Kent members meetings as soon as I can. Keep safe everybody. We can and we will get there.
Hello and welcome. That’s a lovely story and it’s never too late too enjoy an MX-5. It seems you have enjoyed those 1700 miles, and with many more to look forward to. As the vaccine rolls out, hopefully us MX-5er’s will be able to get out more
Take care and stay safe.
Hi Pedro and welcome.
Don’t worry about your age!
I was almost 72 yoa when I got my first MX5, a Mk.4 SE-L Nav in 2015.
In my 60’s I was driving Honda Civic Type R’s.
You’re only old when you feel old!!!
Ordered my MX-5 early March 2020 and although it was just in the UK, lockdown ensued. I was able to pick it up when Mazda reopened in June. Had planned a European tour… Maybe later this year!
I hope that despite the lockdown, you’ve got a few miles in your new MX-5… (Pics welcome!) I enjoy every single mile in mine
Just how i feel when i am driving my mx5.
Yup, i was an MX5 virgin until this lockdown malarky, now i am in love! Such an amazing drive, so much fun. My little bluebird is sitting waiting eagerly for sunny weather, so we can fly around with the top down
Just put a deposit down on a 2007 MK3 - excited but apprehensive. Since getting married and raising kids I’ve always kept my motoring costs to the minimum. So its a big step into the unknown !
I bought my first MX5 at 69 to replace a 1200cc motorbike and I have not been disappointed . I don’t need to suit up before going out and when I arrive at my destination I am dressed like everyone else!
hi ,
I am another one ? Picked up my first MX5 last November. A 2000 NB Icon Edition 1.8. Just spent my time sorting out a few little jobs and practicing getting in an out of it??
Steve
Shes lovely x
