Have you only owned an MX-5 since Covid19 began?

you are definitely getting your use out of that picture! It is good though…

Looks a really nice car (both colours and condition) - and very shiny!!

It will be fine. I worked at a Mazda dealership demonstrating cars to potential customers, and many were in your situation. Kids have grown more independent, and parents looking for something for themselves to enjoy - Many found that in getting an MX-5

Heres my very late midlife crisis car - paid a deposit yesterday. Hopefully collect early next week.

I’m on my 3rd mid-life-crisis car now!! Previous cars were 2016 Fiesta ST2 and 2005 Clio 182

Thanks for the comments , The car is original as far as I can tell and has been well looked after by one owner previously. I managed a brief run out in the country before the lock down but other than than that, that’s it I am afraid. I intend keeping the car original and spending driving around the Yorkshire and Durham Dales or what ever takes my fancy.

Someone who was looking for a car posted that picture on Facebook a few days ago. Was that you? Good history and looks well loved.
:grinning:

It was indeed !

I intended to take my time and not purchase for a few months - but that one was local - and on the face of it seemed to good to miss.

Did you manage to get a good deal on it? To be fair if it was as described it would have been worth paying a bit over book price. Sometimes it’s as much about the seller as the car.

Wheels needed a refurb & MOT due in June. I got it £600 cheaper than the asking price - which gives me a few quid to sort out any niggles.

Not knowing an awful lot about cars - I think I would have confused myself looking at to many. Low mileage, FSH …and a whole heap of luck…!

There’s always some risk that owning one of these could cost you a few bob.but it’s something I would have regretted not doing in my life.

Yes, after driving boring diesel people carrier for years and 2 lockdowns in 2020 decided to take the plunge and get a NC 3.5 20th Anniversary edition in December. I take it out when I can but not put many miles on it <500. Really enjoy with the top down and a little rear wheel spin in the corners.

I still have my eye on an NC 2.0L (or maybe an Abarth Spider but shhhh don’t wanna get roasted here).

Slightly concerning if I’m currently having my mid-life crisis at 33

Nothing wrong with a mlc at 33 as long as it continues, in my case until now😉

I bought a 2013 Sport Tech in December 2020. Only 20K miles on it and lots of chrome addons. Mint everywhere, but still had the underside cleaned and waxoyled including cavities. The plate spells my whole name, not just my initials.

OK. Got none. Will do so when I get home (some time next week). Not out to play now as I need some tools that are far too big for the 5.

I bought my 2007 NC Sport at the beginning of December, it’s been sat in my garage ever since! I have some things I want to do to it and that had to wait whilst I had new windows and new fascias/soffits fitted to the house! Gladly, though all of the work should be done by mid-April and then the car will be very much enjoyed all through summer. To say I’m looking forward to it is somewhat of an understatement!

I bought my first MX5 August 2020, and hoped that I could meet fellow enthusiasts, sadly not on the foreseeable future, I know there are a few in my area, so we just acknowledge each other as we pass
