Music and Song - What are you listening to right now?

Is well worth listening to Annie Lennox’s whole “Medusa” album from which No More I love You’s comes from… :slight_smile:

Hadn’t heard that one before- what a great wee tune!
We had Annie Lennox at my work a few years, incredible lady. Alongside Simple Minds, and Texas- what a magical night that was. Speaking of Texas, have just put this song on as it never fails to make me smile. Also instantly makes me think of the film Bend it Like Beckham but there we go :rofl:

Intrigued to hear this as I adore this song. My two favourite versions have been these ones;

This second one, I saw live when I went André Rieu’s Summer concert in Maastricht that year. Not a dry eye in the house!

I woke up this morning with this lilting tune going through my head, Tommy Emmanuel and Amanda Shires. Listening again, it’s just as good as I remembered.

My son has left home now and lives in Austria, but before he went he introduced me to a whole new world of heavy music outside of my 80’s collection for which I am eternally grateful, there’s some awesome stuff out there ! (Is it rare for a 52 year old to be in to metalcore??)

Strangely enough an hour ago I was listening to Weather Report doing their Birdland and then the rest of the Heavy Weather CD.

Found it live

Brilliant album that, and the one-handed drummer is truly inspirational!

Currently listening to what, in my opinion, is 11 minutes of sheer song writing genius, not to mention incredible drumming.
Sad background though, it tells of the drummer’s desperate search for spiritual guidance in his last days - he had an enlarged heart and knew he faced a very painful death, so he decided to take his own life…but not before helping to write the album this track comes from. Another track on it ‘Fiction’ is effectively his suicide note. Such a sad loss, the guy was amazingly talented!

Paul Carrack on U Tube. Seen a couple of times live and just bought tickets for his show next March! One of the most underrated singer/songwriters ever.

I saw Texas at Manchester Pride a couple of years back, when Texas 25 came out.
I am not a fan but they were headlining on the main stage, and their set was just full of very well performed hits. Sharleen is quite a performer too.

Something different :man_dancing:
