I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __Looking after rust and preventing it
The MX5 Restorer is 60 miles away so it’s a possibility but I was wondering if anyone knew of any good bodyshops or underseal companies close to me? S.E London and SE England.
Just wanted the car checked over as it has some tiny rust spots on the arches, get that sorted and then get it sealed up.
Went with the advise, called and sent mx5 restorer an email. Fingers crossed I might be able to get MisterR CRD fitted and aligned in some sort of bundle.
I’ve been using a company called
BJ MILES, ACCIDENT REPAIR SPECIALISTS

I’ve been using Marc for over 15 years now and I’ve never had a job I’ve been disappointed with. I would recommended any customer, friend or family member to use him. Feel free to mention my name.
Mx5 restorer messaged me back and said repairing arch rust on the NC arches is pointless because it will come back but if I wanted it done it’s going to be £300 per side.
That rust on the arch lip is superficial, providing it’s just confined to the very edge it’s easily doeable.
If you don’t want a complete strip back of the paintwork in that area you can treat the rust and paint over it.
I ground away the edge on mine treated the rust and repainted it myself. I put an extra layer of epoxy mastic before painting, can hardly see the join as they say.
I’m based in Bromley as well. I took my 2006 NC 2.0 for an underseal to the MX5 restorer to get the underseal done in mine last October. I have to say they made an impeccable job. And the quote I got was around £400.
