Sills Welding

2. I’m based near: Halstead
3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: My near side and offside sills need welding.

Hey all, was wondering if anyone knew of someone that could do sill welding for a reasonable price as my MX5 has just failed for seatbelt anchorage points via the sills rusting.

I have been monitoring a few threads where owners were looking for places to get welding done. But haven’t found any that provide good feedback or a collation of options, that is what I have tried to do here: That map shows all the places I have found mentioned in various posts or through my own online searches. “Reasonable price” might depend on your expectations of the final result. A patch and hammerite is not much. It will last a little bit, and look ugly.
Actual sill repairs, with paint, will run into 4 figures.

Depends how quickly you need the car back. The latter job will take longer.

Thank you very much this helps a lot. Honestly for now, I just need it to be functional as I can’t afford a full sill replacement. It’s something I’m looking to get done as soon as I can but need the car to pass the MOT. I’ll check out the welders you mentioned!
