What have you done to your MX-5 today? (Part 2)

“Every number plate recognition system either on car parks or speed cameras manages perfectly well with all our shiny acrylic plates”

Except not all square type plates.

Have you ever had a car park camera incorrectly read your square plate, I have at varied locations?

As for the acrylic cover I can’t see a problem with one being fitted.:+1:

Well. you dropped the car by dunno 30mm? your wheels are not at the OEM geometry anymore because the car rests on its own weight at a lower height. So you definitely need to align the wheels to either the OEM geometry or to whatever settings you want. at the moment its not ideal at all.

Your suspension is adjustable and chances are that you have not weight balanced the car. this means the load on each spring is adjusted so that its the same left to right and the correct front to back distribution is checked (its not 50/50% btw )

As I mentioned, I am booking a laser alignment and geo setup asap, the car won’t see much use until then

Got a GoPro so did the obligatory and took the car for a run with the camera stuck to the back bumper.

My opinion… The MX5 looks their best in the ‘Soft Top option… to me It signifies a true Roadster … MG MGB, Spitfire, Austin Healy MX5 etc…

OK…Just to Clarify a Bit on What I Said [As BlueBird67 Getting Some Grief from Us]

Scotland Has a ‘Different Legal System’ to England & Wales [I Don’t Know Whether the MOT Rules Applied in England & Wales applies to Scotland]

In Similar Vein…The European Union Has a Different Legal System to Us [From Memory They Use a ‘Continental System’ ?]…We Use a ‘Common Law’ System…[Maybe Why Folk Voted for Brexit]

In Similar Vein…The USA Have a ‘Written Constitution’ and We Don’t [Law in England & Wales is Based on Statutes & Case Law]

Yours :exploding_head: :face_with_spiral_eyes: :upside_down_face:

@tooth_dr I now also want to know how did you link a video on this forum that is not on YouTube

That does sound rather good. I was expecting a fart in a baked bean can but, that’s sounded quite “sporty” and raspy.

Why the petty insult and rudeness?

Members like you make this forum an uncomfortable place to be.

Cheers! It’s a bit loud on cold start for a minute until the chokes off. Also why do these cars need to do that little ‘rev’ on starting!

Yeah, that little throttle blip rev sound on startup used to annoy me too.

The initial cold start is to heat up the exhaust manifold cat quickly for emissions purposes.
