General Service inc oil & filter, detailed visual insp of underside of car esp known problem areas, wheel alignment check.
Took it to Thrussington garage which is a 30 min drive away. Friendly folk and reasonable price.
Worth running a bead of sealant around fixing points during reassembly
Better than watching Iām a celebrityā¦
I donāt subscribe to that Big Bloated Corporation, so Iām free of all that cr@ppy tv.
Think itās ITV not BBC so not just cr@ppy TV but cr@ppy TV with cr@ppy ads. Donāt watch it myself but I have seen people complaining of too many ads in the programme. I would have thought there was a very good chance the ads would be better than the programme.
Hi,
Not sure if you have had your seats refreshed, but Andrew at Autolink had mine done and they were top class, there is a wait but worth it
Installed a wolfbox g840s mirror front and rear dashcam also acts as a reversing camera. Hardwired into internal fusebox so it has a parking function as well.
A good clean today, after nearly a month of nasty weather I finally got to give it a bathā¦ and the usual, check the fluids etc
While I was at it I applied two coats of Fabsil which was recommended on here, I hope this stuff works the Renovo I used previously did literally nothing!
Judging how strong this stuff smells I assume its quite good, just need to wait for some rain now.
Following on from my two recent topics on choice of coolant and changing CAS O-ring on Mk1, I got round to both jobs this weekend.
I picked up some Mazda FL22 Gold coolant from Mazda dealer last week. At Ā£14.80 for 5l ready mixed it didnāt seem bad price (and cheaper than some alternative OAT silicate free coolants Iād looked at).
Yesterday drained system (which was surprisingly clean to start with) and gave it several flushes through (with a run up to temperature and heater on between flushes), first with tap water then with de-ionised water. Removed emptied and cleaned out expansion tank.
This morning drained once more, before removing both heater hoses, removing CAS (after marking position), changing O-ring, reinstalling CAS, fitting new heater hose grommets and then new heater hoses.
Just as the light was fading (no lighting in garage) managed to refill system with de-ionised water for last time and run engine, which sounded sweet (so hopefully timing as-was). Iāll flush out tomorrow and if all is well after a short run drain and refill with the new coolant.
I followed a lot of top tips from here and Mazda Menderās site before tackling CAS. I was replacing heater hoses anyway as one was contaminated by CAS oil leak, which was just as well as I donāt think Iād have got CAS out of the engine bay without the space made by their removal.
Following my last post, we had some rain here in South Wales this morningā¦ Check out the result, way better than Renovo!
Some beading action for youā¦ Fabsil is the mutts nutts

Was a bit trickier than I thought as the tape just wouldnāt stick for the base or the sides. It was about 10 degrees C so not that cold. Just hoping that it doesnāt fall off while Iām driving!
Looks good though.
Looking good, maybe some discreet self tappers to hold it in place ?
3M tape does stick better when things are a bit warmer. However the clever technology of the adhesive does increase the bond with the surface over a short period.
One of my aims when designing these was not to have anything that wasnāt reversable. No drilling or screwing into the bodywork in particular.
Iām always happy to sort any problems.
Looking good.
Seat belt warning light randomly going off. Drivers seat out, disconnected seat belt stalk, couple of exposed sections all reinsulated and all reinstalled. Let see what happens.
Thanks, Iāll see how it goes and hope the adhesive bonds a bit better. Iāll probably go for a drive with the roof up and heat the cabin up to help the glue, or nick my wifeās hairdryer.
Either way, Iām loving how it looks. Anyone need one of the mesh windblockers for a bargain price, like this: Wind Deflector, Mesh Type, Mazda MX5 Mk3 3.5 3.75
