Replaced the very old (10 yo +!!) Ventus tyres that were on when I bought the car for a nice new set of Uniroyal Rainsport 5’s. Also had the TPMS sensors fitted at the same time.

Just fitted a set of S/H fog lights to my NC today.

‘Repair’ Bullit with a ‘Replacement’ Drivers Side Mechanism

One of Us Is Having a Long Day and One of Us is Bored :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Re-keyed the door key cylinder on my 2007 NC.

A previous owner had replaced the drivers door due to crash damage, but hadn’t swapped over the cylinder, so the door couldn’t be operated with the key. As I normally operate the doors using the fob, this was never an issue - until the battery went flat.

I bought a second hand cylinder with key, and followed the instructions in a YouTube video on how to reconfigure the cylinder to match your key. It was fairly straightforward, and I only had to file down one of the eight brass wafers.

Replacing the cylinder in the door should have been easy, according to the Workshop Manual, but I came across a big metal plate which needs to be removed, which wasn’t detailed in the manual.

Anyway, after sacrificing many layers of knuckle skin, everything is back together and I can now operate the door with the key.

Colour coded my wind deflector outside soul red to match the roll hoops and the centre black as I thought all red was too much!

Sorry for the poor photo in the dark

The whole thing might be too much but I had the paint and the time …

I changed the internal and boot light bulbs in my RF to LEDs. What a difference: before was like gaslight, now I can see what I am doing. Another advantage is that the saved current draw can be used to power other things. Next will be the licence plate lights and Paul’s rear LED strip, followed eventually by corner marker lights (a more tricky exercise).

Just the MX~5 badge to do

Thank you for the compliment - it means a lot from you given the stunning look of your car. I completely agree they are expensive - I completely forgot/misunderstood import tax and got stung for an extra £66! For context I have zero skill at anything like this and spoke to a few people about spraying mine but didn’t gain full confidence so I went with a buy cheap buy twice logic. Completely irrational but we did some extra work on days off to justify the cost so in someways it didn’t sting as much! I hope to meet you sometime and have a proper look at your car as it looked amazing from a slight distance at the National.

Had been irritated by a noise from gearstick, basically metallic tapping when in neutral. Took it apart and found the rubber boot on poor order and no visible oil in the turret.

Couple days later and replaced boots and selector plate, added some oil and grease on upper bits. Oh and as it was apart, I replaced the stupid cup holders with the bigger tub and routed my CarPlay cable through so the phone can sit in the centre.

All happy other than the jazz bronze bush that I put on and took straight back off. It just made gearchange real heavy and stick would not recentralise.

End result is noise gone, change nice and smooth and made use of a useless part of the car.

Bought a Dual USB charger for the 12V socket on the centre console. It fits flush with the socket so the flap can be closed when it’s not in use.

Nice but where from?

Not today but yesterday, I cleaned, re oiled and fitted the K&N filter I retained from my ex BBR 220 ND, along with the Zunsport half grill from the said car, to my newly aquired 2019 Soul Red GT Sport Nav+. Not posting pictures because everyone knows what they look like

Oops, knew I had forgot something! I’ve edited the post with the link now in.

Finally got the '23 sticker fitted in the windscreen.
The '22 now adorns the shed window :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Technically it was last weekend, but I fitted a new screen mounted Eightwood digital aeriall, which is brilliant! I also fitted a bargain £13 Amazon reversing camera, to go with the Sony head unit I fitted a couple of years ago. Also brilliant. Not bad for £24. :grinning:
