What have you done to your MX-5 today? (Part 2)

After a week at JR Classics in Doncaster, I drove my Sport Black home today having had a complete Dinitrol full cavity wax and underbody rustproofing treatment.
A top quality job and only surface rust to contend with👍

Great job👍

Washed it. It was overdue. Was going to do the full TFR, clay, Autoglym SRP and HD Wax but started too late in the day.

Did get to use the new Worx Hydroshot, which I was quite impressed with.

Sport Black even made it on to their front page👍

Gave her roof the “Fabsil Gold” treatment and then gave her a coat of “The Kiwami Wax”. The car that is, not the wife.

Looking good, finish it off nicely with some metal polish on those stainless steel tail pipes, you know it makes sense!! Inside and out mind!!!

Cheers. They are the standard tail pipes. I did not think that they were stainless steel as it has a standard rear box which I thought was just a rust resistant (aluminiumised?) alloy steel but not stainless steel. Correct me if I am wrong!

They are stainless steel and polish up really well. Autosol, brasso or any metal polish will do the job.
Looking forward to a ‘closeup’ when they are done!!!

Very smart.

I had my 2011 boggo 1.8 SE Waxoyled and they also said only surface rust. It seems that well looked-after NC2s aren’t getting too rusty over time, but it’s still worth getting them undersealed with some kind of treatment. I’ll leave the specific Dinitrol v Waxoyl debate to others…

All down to personal preference on the treatment, but if it’s done then there is more chance of keeping the Fifty Shades Of Rust at bay👍

polished my tailpipes to satisfy @Mad_Malc

Amen to that.

Just add £500 or so as a sunk cost right from the outset - still way better value than a Z4 / SLK / Boxster etc.

Thanks for possibly satiating Mad Malcs fetish for polished tailpipes. You may hopefully have taken the pressure off me to polish mine
