I always go out of my way to find a space with no other space on the driver’s side; end of a row or next to a marked footpath.
I did that in Tesco’s this morning, carefully parked next to a nice shiny well cared for Jag XK. Nothing the other side but a big pillar (it was underground parking) as we walked away from the car the Jag owner returned and drove off. I gave him plenty of room to open those wide doors.
I thought, now when I return there’s going tobe a beat up old builders transit next to me, guaranteed Nope, an absolutely filthy taxi you could barely make out the reg plate so filthy. The heaps of room I left to gain entry/exit for Mrs A had deminished to she couldn’t get down between the cars. Thankfully no marks on the car:+1:
Next to a disabled bay can work well too
Unfortunately that is precisely how my NC gained a suitcase scrape in the second month I owned it! Aaaaarrrgghhh!
Much of it polished out from the lacquer, and the touch up kit worked on most of the rest, only two marks remain to show my lack of skill, and the hybrid ceramic seems to do a reasonable job of hiding them from a casual observer.
Now I always look for the flower bed option!
Finished the boot mod, a little red trim & the bracket for the fire extinguisher bolted onto the backing plate …pleased with it ……
Corner spots are my favourites
you can just go right ahead and make me one of them if you like
Fitted 3 Flash Indicator relay
This is something I have wanted for ages but since tapturn stopped being available I had struggled to find a plug in solution. I also did not use the red additional wire supplied as this is only required during programing away from default so for things like 4-5-6 flash options which I did not need. Arrived in 10 days.
Also shown in the Video is the DRLs that I fitted sometime ago, helps to been.

No chance!!!
This is what I am expecting!!!
Perhaps some light therapy for the weekend is in order--------for both of us —
Changed the speedo to mph from km. Broke the dashboard cowl fixings so ordered a new second hand one.
Found it quite nerve racking getting the needle off. Hard part done now.
Good job on the replacement dial (I assume you know to remind your MOT guy it’s KM, not M…
Shame about the cowl though. Quite common,I believe (mine’s gone too…).
Realised mine has been SORN for over two years.
Insured yesterday and washed/polished and waxed today. Almost ready for the upcoming MOT, then I’ll be out and about and my other car will sit looking in in sadness… must share the miles! They’re both great ‘drivers’ cars, just different.
I know I don’t do enough with one car so have two would be extremely difficult. What do you have…?
I was remembering - going back 20 years or so, I was driving 50k a year, that was in a new Civic Type R 02 plated. 2.5 years and 125k trouble free (other than the aching jaw from smiling) miles later, changed job. Miles driven have decreased slowly over time.
I’ve had the Eunos for 15 years, done 40k in that time, only on 66k now, but love it as I would love any work of art (and how many of those can you get a smile from driving, washing, servicing, learning the history etc.), so I have driven it. Just these past 2 years, it’s sat in the garage. Been started and moved, tyres are still round(ish) but I’m feeling the love for it again.
I also have a little Fiat Abarth 595 as my daily. A bit of a laugh, and like the Eunos, I love the look of it and the surprise it pulls out of the bag when the conditions are right. Neither of them will ever be the fastest, but they both give me a lot of joy and a smile.
I’ve had the Abarth for 2 1/2 years and only done 10k in that - this WFH thing has really slowed my odometer… I have discussed this with my ‘far better half’ and we will be driving more this year, in this country, for hols. Putting the money into the UK rather than taking it abroad…
So, what have I done to the Roadster today? Ordered parts for servicing! She getting there!
I like both your cars…I have a big family car that can just eats up the miles and is comfortable.
But I really enjoy as you say spending time on the ‘piece of art’.
Sounds like your not far from being back on the road, I will look out for some pics of your Eunos once done.
I meant to ask, have you got plans for doing anything else to yours, (apart from the binnacle… )?
Going to get the clutch done as noise coming from the bell housing. Might be the spigot or release bearing.
The front feels really planted so was going to look at the rear and do the easy bits in the winter, droplinks and arb bushings. Then see what else it needs after, i.e rear dampers and springs.
Just want to drive it now, drove it today and really is coming together.
Looking good in red! Nice moody pics too. I have to get my springs and coils done sometime soon… you’ll have to let us know what you go for.
Fitted my lathewerks.com titanium handbrake button, looks good and matches my gear knob.
The only standard remaining is the handbrake sleeve, I’m trying to source a leather version but struggling to find a suitable upgrade.
What’s the link to your modding page?
Do you have the template for this?
