Sorry, what did you say?

Oops Sorry Folks but Thank You grumpy2 for PM re more info
Wife wears hearing aids and I really annoy her with comments like this.
The following may be of interest to some. If you wear hearing aids you qualify for a disabled persons railcard. Only costs Ā£20 for a year while all other rail cards cost Ā£30. It gives 1/3 off travel for the holder and any one adult companion. While all other railcards only offer discount on off peak travel the disabled one works on all fares.
Another interesting point is that a study of 10,000 hearing aid wearers has found that they are less likely to develop dementia and if they do it will progress more slowly. They donāt know whether it is due to the stimulation of the hearing sense or whether it is because they interact more with others than those who just donāt hear conversations well.
My GP used to do them, then stopped, now has just started doing them again.
Took Zippy (2006 NC) for an MOT today.
PASS, no advisories
He didnāt seem concerned with the ācorroded but not excessiveā areas (surface rust on subframe) which were in the advisories last year. It must have magically disappeared. (It hasnāt!)
Iāve done the standard fog light to DRL relay mod and even though they are not tested as such I always disable them before the MOT as the first time I took it the inspector spent time turning lights on and off to see when the DRLs came on and eventually gave me an advisory on the foglight tell-tale in the instrument cluster as this coming on is a side-effect of the mod.
Peeked under the sheet at Daisy.
Three base coats, two top lacquer coats and waiting for a light rub down and machine polish.
Rear bumper, numberplate plastic part, minor parts (headlight covers) and new wing still to be done, all off-car. Windscreen on order.
Just go to a branch of Timpsons both batteries changed for Ā£30 guarantee for 12 months .
That is a lot of money for a simple job, being a Yorkshireman I will stick to DIY.
Daisy looking absolutely stunning.
Thanks Roadie ā¦Study makes perfect senseā¦absolutely agree
[Tried so hard to convince late Dad to wear his but his brain damage prevented him from easily accepting assistanceā¦Even Tried Getting Him to Name his Hearing Aidsā¦This Is a Good Strategy if you have to accept Aids. It was inspired by my late English Teacher who named her Colostomy Bag āClaudeā when she got Bowel Cancer. After Surgery her daughter-in-law wrote a poem āOde to the Death of Claudeā]
Apologies to others on this thread but as one matures and requires Aids we have to adapt as we Want to Keep Driving Our Fives and Being Safe to Other Road Users
A Ha !
Pretty sure we live in same locale ā¦so thanks for empowering me with this info
Got a coat of wax on mine, just before the winter weather arrives. Went posh this time, and used āSoft 99ā. Very impressed with how easily it goes on ā and more importantly, how easy it is to buff off!
Good work Nick - which Soft99 wax did you use?
It says āPearl & metalā on the tin Steve ā for pearl and metallic colour bodies. Iām very impressed with it! (It also went onto āthe other carā before a long rainy drive to Belgium, and the rain seemed to just fall off the bonnet while driving).
I use Soft99 under the brand āThe Kiwamiā manufactured in Japan. There are various products depending on the colour and finish of your car e.g. silver, white, black etc. As McrNick states it is extremely easy to apply and buff up. Excellent stuff!
Just Google āKiwami waxā.
I donāt have the Kiwami, but I have a few of their others. Just wondered which one Nick had plumped for
It looks like you have been doing a bit of rallycross when you do a closeup of the wheels and arches!!!
Muddy lane, the plot thickens.
Not today but over the last week, dropped my car off at Thrussington Garage for cavity and underseal treatment.
They had it for just over a week whilst I was working away and buying a house!
Involved blasting off all of the any old underseal and surface corrosion, inspect known problem areas for for deeper corrosion and repairs ( none found or needed). Passivated the bare metal then several coats of whatever treatment they use.
Looks nice and shiny underneath and hopefully added a few more years to the old girl. 99k and 15 years old this year.
