MX5 Parts
Bought mine about 6 or 7 years ago.
I drilled and tapped some threaded holes and adapted and fitted an original wind blocker to it, which hinges so soft top can fold. Also clears the hard top with no issues.

My one was vapour blasted then powder coated. Cost £30.
Thank you, good price

Plenty of rust killer ,
A few coats of black stone chip to finish
New tyres day! Treated the car to four lovely new Michelin PilotSports (I’d also heard very good reports about the Kumho Ectsa PS71s, but just had a tax refund through so feeling flush!)
I’m astonished by the difference they make. I’d always suspected that the Bridgestone’s that were on the car when we bought it last summer gave a slightly harsh ride. But switching to these I can really feel (and hear) the difference. Much quieter on the motorway. Only had a short drive so far - looking forward to more!
… And sorry for the dirty wheel – yup, I know it needs a clean ![]()
Well after collecting our new ND2 yesterday, leaving our ND1 Icon in part ex. I started to fit the bits I removed from our old ND, I started with the dash cam and although I’ve stripped the interiors before and they are so easy, I did feel a little bit uneasy pulling a car apart that has only done about 50 miles, which was the journey home from Cambridge, it went okay except when I fitted it to the screen, as I use a sticky mount and not a suction mount the housing for the forward facing camera obscures the dash cam so I had to fit it lower so of course I was worried that it would be too low for the boss but fortunately she said she didn’t notice it😅.
Ha ha. Had those same bits off the car today. Structurally sound but in need of a pimp. Oddly the one nearest the rear looks rust free. Possibly a replacement.
Not so much what I’ve done to my MX5 today but what I’ve discovered!
I had no idea that the little button on the door handle can lock/unlock the car (providing the key is on you somewhere)… Little things, little minds as they say ![]()
I’ve been using this little button for a few days now and its great! no faffing with keyfobs, just press the button… Brilliant
Thats a pretty good 2 car garage bud
Have a look here MX-5_8EV5-EE-15E_Edition1.indb (mazda.media) as there may be other exciting features that you have yet to experience.
If you go here Manuals & Know your Mazda | Mazda UK you can select the correct one for your year. Be aware that some of the screens and settings require the ignition to be in the on position.

Yes thanks, nice tonal opposites in the colours. Reminds us of a Ska record label. ![]()
Yep, been there. I think mine had 75miles on the clock when the interior was stripped out to fit a dash cam.
It all goes back like it’s never been apart ![]()
First MOT passed today
.
Third year service next month
.
Yes, I’ve had Mini’s (BMW type) and you’re frightened to to take them apart because they don’t strip down like you would expect them to do and their clips are so easy to break, whereas the Mazda comes apart easily without breaking anything and doesn’t rattle afterwards.
Bought and swopped the oil dipstick. What a noticeable difference it makes of reading the oil level. ![]()
Must get me one of those
Washed the NANC duo and did various other bits to them.
Last time I had 2 in the stable was in 2020, NBND in my Avatar. Would love to have the cash and space for all 4.
Oil change yesterday using Mobil Super 2000 plus a new Bosch oil filter. The oil was about 12 months old so a pre spring change was due, along with a new air filter, spark plugs to follow soon but the current ones seem fine to me. I swear the engine is quieter with the Mobil as opposed to the previous Mannol oil, maybe it is just my imagination. Fitted new front drop links last year but the rears never got done for whatever reason, did those today, had to cut them off as they were rusted to hell. Fitted the new ones, took the car for a drive on some familiar bendy country roads by me, what a difference. Rear end was no longer jumpy & twitchy, just seemed firmly planted & round the bends like a go kart feeling was the result. I’d say that is my best upgrade, well replacement, change so far.
That’s a great shot of the weight gain. Picture worth a thousand words etc. I was surprised when I found my NC was 1365kg.
Where from Davy ?
