Nice. Where did you manage to source those from?
Ebay, someone was replacing them with 18 inch wheels…
If you are still on the original Bridgestones then probably best to upgrade to a set of mixed, part used crossply remoulds.
Maybe have one snow tyre too?
They are hopeless in the snow, that’s for sure.
Got the Mk4 ND 2015-2024 Red LED Boot Lid Strip - Plug & Play kit by Roadie this morning and after about 15 minutes it was fitted.
Looks great on the Soul Red and the iPhone photo doesn’t really do it justice…
Thanks @BobL .
If anyone wants one of my LED oot strips just drop me a PM. £40 including UK delivery.
Cheers
Paul
Not a fan of OEM Bridgestones then?
Took it over to my favourite guy Hypertech for fast road setup/alignment. I had to do the drive of shame from there a couple of weeks back as I took it in and one of the brand new rear wheel bearings had a ton of play- I bought hte cheapest ebay ■■■■, and regretted it.
So in with a set of blueprints and no problems this time. Car drives properly for the first time since I’ve owned it, feels so much nicer, it’s all polybushed now and sat on meisters whereas before it was stock NC springs and all original 130000 mile old bushings, some of em literally just fell out of the car when I took the bolts out!
And mechanically, that is that- 2.5 litre swap/War On Rust/suspension everything refresh complete! A mere 2 years into a quick long weekend engine swap
Still iterating on the map- Fab9 are a little behind I think- but that’s almost there
(I did break an ARB bracket stud, but I’m calling that “post 2.5 swap fixing” rather than part of the project. Just needs drilled out and a bolt fitted. )
Picked up a mk3.75 grill/bumper insert without the reg plate holes will clean up the front of the track car nicely……from an errrr local Mazda dealer well local to some meetings this week.
On another matter if this model was available in the UK I would seriously consider it …… oh well
Excellent! I love picking up random car parts during holidays/work trips
It just has to be done ,
Can you tell me the part number for that and how much it was? I’d love one without the holes. Didn’t know you could buy them.
Hi Dean, I ordered NP06-50-1T2A , not sure on other part numbers. but just to note this was ordered and collected from a Mazda Dealer in a US State that does not require a front License plate. This was the dealer https://www.mallofgamazda.com/?srsltid=AfmBOooTu75w_LozuU1FXZV_P8-MJyi1-1vGapk7p4O6ZQ8Fx_0Cx7D7 looks great will share pics when fitted.$122 inc tax
Thanks for the info. I noticed that some usdm versions didn’t have the mount holes and did wonder if it was modified or they came that way. Now I know
I’ve found the part online from an American company I’ve used before, tasca parts. They’re 83 dollars for the part but 95 dollars to ship - then duty etc when they arrive. Might be worth seeing how much interest there would be in ordering more than one if there are any others here interested as the shipping price doesn’t go up significantly when changed from 1 to 5…
After reading Pistonheads latest update on their 25th Anniversary car I Got around to checking on the gear turret oil on my NC 2 venture .Well there’s a thing, despite changing my gearbox oil I still thought the changes were a bit sticky especially when cold and low and behold there was no old oil to suck out
So added about 200mil of Motul gearbox oil and what a difference now
Super smooth changes even when cold .
It’s an easy DIY job that takes 30 mins

The rocketship went to the local garage on Friday for its annual MOT & service - all good. When I got it home, I also gave the drains a pull-through and rinsed out the aquarium foam I have in the drain outlets.
I had also been having an issue with a slow surge/stumble at idle for a while, after I inadvertently popped a fuse when messing around with some other stuff. I had thought it was just being difficult about re-learning its idle and it appeared to be getting better, but on the way to the garage it was as bad as ever and I was a little surprised that they didn’t pull me up on it. It did settle down when properly warm, so maybe they didn’t notice. Anyway, I pulled the ground cable off for half an hour or so, then took it out for a blast after all of the above to get everything nice and hot, and it seems to have sorted that issue out.
One slight annoyance is that I asked the garage to do the diff oil for me, but perhaps foolishly said that I didn’t know if or when it had been done before. When I picked it up, I was told, “Yep, it’s due.”
“Well, did you do it?”
“No…?”
Not sure what’s happened there, but I am now scoping out doing it myself in the driveway. This is difficult for a number of reasons, not least lack of equipment; I don’t have any ramps or axle stands, but I think I have enough access to do it without… probably. Of course, I have a 24mm socket, but not a 23mm, and now I need a torque wrench, and… All for the sake of a 10-15 min job while they had it up on the lift. Oh well.
I suppose the good news is that while I was on my back under the car, it is remarkably clean for its age. The only real rust is on the rear trailing arms, and I am a little suspicious about one of the rails under the boot floor. Superficially it looks fine, but I think there may be some rust under the undercoating, so there is a job for the future as well.
