Only just got round to fitting the grille insert with no holes for reg plate , before this I didn’t have anything in the upper centre grille, it was missing since I got the car … and just an excuse to post some pics of my car
It is odd that the motoring fraternity call this a spoiler. It is an aerofoil, designed to give downforce in itself, probably a max of 25 kilos in road use. A “spoiler” doe what it says, it spoils the airflow, e.g. the little ridge across the rear edge of a boot lid, which stops the air smoothly flowing down on to the rear of the car, which increases the pressure in the near wake, reducing overall drag.
But, yes, it looks pretty good
Thanks. I saw the tutorial on Revlimiter about nibbling away the plastic boxes behind the lamps.
How easy was it to move the lamps?
Yeah not too bad with the included bulb holders, one of them was a little bit of a strain on the wires so I had to do some readjusting but it’s fairly alright and I didn’t need up ‘needing’ to electrical tape anything but I did anyway just in case. I’d recommend doing it first on another set of clocks, to familiarise yourself with what to do and how easy it is to break the needles doing it the wrong way lol, I can’t imagine they would be too much from a local breaker
De-summerized it
Yes, after a beautiful drive in the warm autumn sunshine I got back and put the hard top on.
The car currently sits outside and with temperatures only likely to fall from now on I wanted to take advantage of the sun’s warmth to fold the soft top safely.
I know there will be more dry, sunny days throughout the winter months but I actually still enjoy both driving the car with the top on and the looks of the car with it on too.
If Mazda had made an MX-5 coupe in numbers it could have looked like this.
Designed to be numpty-proof. Sold hundreds and nobody has failed on the install yet.
being something to do with electrics… i would without doubt fail to install it im sure of it
If you can pull a plug out of a wall socket and put it back in again then as far as these kits are concerned you are a fully qualified electrician!!
The most difficult part was sticking the LED strip on!
i can pull a plug from a socket, it does look very nice, may well purchase one for my nc
If only it would fit an NC
ahh there the problem then haha oh well one day maybe
Well judging by your user I’d you probably have an nc so you could very well be right.
It fits under the edge of the boot lid and shines out through the gap between the boot lid and rear panel. Totally different body design on the NC so the whole concept of an NC version is a non-starter. Sorry.
The late Bruce McLaren once observed that they were called spoilers because they spoil the look of the car.
your powers of judgement are spot on there roadie, do you do anything for the nc?
Cheers Roadie, I knew they didn’t fit the NC, I was gently letting clarky know
Sorry, nothing for the NC.
We would all hope with your club job title that it would be a breeze for you . Bacon Baguette though, that’s a bit posh, do you not have sarnies from wence you are from?
Sprayed some Ford silicone spray around the roof of my ND in an attempt to stop a VERY annoying squeak which is right next to my ear.
