Good luck , hope she’s not too bad
That looks like an epic job a long winter project……
Today I made a small bracket and strap to hold the drivers mat in place, NC 1.8.
The OEM one is was missing
I washed polished and waxed my 2015 Sport Venture ready for a road trip from Newcastle to Edinburgh tomorrow.
Work carried out indoors I presume after the downpour we’ve had this afternoon
Fitted new Anti roll bar bushes to try and eliminate a knocking noise. Didn’t eliminate the knocking noise I had drop links replaced all round in February as well
Put my baby up for sale
All season wheels and tyres fitted and a quick (covers on) photo inspection to help decide when to do some corrosion prevention. Car is 5 1/3 years since registration.
Clean up of my NC earlier today (plus my wife’s Skoda) beside matching (well, almost) garage door. Other recent maintenance has included gearbox/diff oil changes, replacement thermostat and new aux belt (seemed a good idea while the thermostat was being done). The old thermostat was behaving a bit oddly - it wasn’t causing a problem warming up but the temp gauge would drop way down if the engine was on a very light load then rise back up to normal. It’s now back to being rock steady once warmed up. Upcoming jobs will be oil/filter change and maybe install braided hoses plus a good check/clean underneath.

Gradually getting around the car to focus on corrosion protection. Dirty and time consuming but ultimately awarding long term.
Now then, I wonder if my Cortina 1600E is still knocking around?
I received and fitted yesterday the Fab9 Bosch 68mm throttle body. It’s a very nice kit and excellently packed. The kit has everything you need to fit it although I did buy some gasket material to make a gasket to go in-between the throttle body and the adapter rather than use the supplied rtv. First impressions are good and doesn’t require any tuning to use it. Idles fine and improves throttle response. More testing is going to take place over the next week but looking good so far.
Nice looking engine bay
Splashed out on a new battery. I was still running the original 2015 Panasonic which I had expected to replace soon after purchase. Keeping it on my Ctek charger seems to have helped it last for another year (!) but yesterday when I started up to go out the display would not fire up, and the spanner lit up, and then when I re-started to come home it had a bit of a struggle to turn the engine. Opted to fit a standard NS60 as at my age I reckon it should see me out! With my post surgery ban on lifting I had no choice but to get the garage to fit it for me, - the wife did offer but I did not want her dropping it on the paintwork.
My wife would probably do that!
Ordered rear brake guide pins and springs from Frentech, in the hope of stopping a click from my 2007 nc. I’m running out of ideas
Been meaning to do this job for so long. Finally got around to cleaning the roof drain filters (ND soft top).
This is nearly 2 and a half years of living outside. Not quite as much stuff in the basket as I expected, as there are a lot of of trees quite close.
Had a feel around after removing the basket and sponge and felt a bit more dirt, but it also felt wet, especially when I felt what I assume was the exit of the filter chamber down into the drain itself.
It did rain heavily last night and the sponge was wet so it could just be that, but could it be the drain also needs cleaning?
