Just a thought here… Depending on how long a guy has been with his better half there is a good chance she has spent a considerable amount of money on products such as …make up , hair colourants, acrylic nails, Botox and the like that probably outweigh the ‘secret’ spending on the car.

I’m not afraid of dying, but the one thing that does worry me is that my wife will sell off my gadgets and car accessories/upgrades for the price I told her I paid for them.

They say folk stereotype because it’s much easier than actually getting to know a person or a vehicle e.g. the MX-5 being a ‘hairdressers car’
Personally never done Botox…did acrylic nails once [1988 my wedding…pretty impractical]
Last time I wore make-up…25 years ago at least…passport/ID photo??

My late hubbie and I also had a joint A/C
Our salaries went in to cover all the bills from Mortgage to food
What was left over went into our personal accounts to spend on ourselves
I didn’t care what he spent his left over monies on !!
She does know the upcoming cost of the forged engine rebuild and stage 1 Supercharger…that sort of money can’t “leak” without even her not noticing.

Fitted a SmartTop controller, and got my CarPlay head unit working properly again.
And I feel no sense of shame in having brought in an experience car electrician to help me with both of those tasks!

@PaleRider i need to spend some of my hard earned on refurbing my nc3.5 wheels, can you recommend anyone in South East Northumberland?
Took the wheels off, cleaned the arches, suspension and recoated with Krown T40. Washed and polished the wheels with some graphene infused polish. They turned out great. Also vacuumed the hood.

Snow foamed, double bucket wash, rinse then for the first time I tried Autoglym Polar Seal. I’m pleasantly surprised at the depth of the shine

Dry winter overall and there hasn’t been any rain really all month to wash away the salt they lobbed down in the first two weeks. It’s all been ground in now, but I’m resiting the temptation to go for a spin. Stupid really it’s a lovely day. It’s on a month now, the disks are still looking nice and silver though under the great wheel covers someone on here recommended
Still looking sweet after a nice coat of Farecla g3 about 2 weeks ago. And a ‘normal’ Garage Therapy one/V3 ‘normal’ wash on Sunday

Yep 2L Arctic While Exclusive Line. Was difficult to find a youngish white one at the time… Autoglym SRP and UHD wax in my case.
Finally decided to get it out after the first rain here after all the recent salting. Avoid using it if they re-salt before some more rain at least. Spray more Bilt Hamber Atom-Mac underneath on next wash if there’s been more salting too. Car also had Dinitrol underbody treatment by first owner (car is now 18 months old).
Life’s too short, for me, to wait for two days of heavy rain before getting it out after salting. So if they’re still doing more salting I up the wash maintenance routine and I just choose to enjoy the car than wait more weeks.
And some folk don’t even drive if it’s raining, even in summer. Each to their own, of course.
