What have you done to your MX-5 today? (Part 2)

Son lives in Elgin. We stayed in Burghead- they have a 4 year old and a 2 month old. We normally stay in their house- but it’s a bit nuts at the moment😂

We stayed in a wee loft conversion appartment in Burghead, close to the harbour. Nice view out the velux window

Oh what a fantastic trip that’ll be! I’m very very jealous. Have you been to them before? Enjoy!

Mine’s off for the same tomorrow, for the same reason. Plus underseal and MOT. It’s not getting a was though as it’ll come back filthy after a week at the garage.

Firstimers at LM24 but been in and around TT as had family on IOM. Proper trip to TT though so really stoked for both!

The are both amazing!!

Bought the car some Ramps Going to mod them so the jacks will be 12volt plate activated… rarther than bottle jacks …this will enable me to raise the car up to 65-70cm with 5cm locout pin ports will also beef up the side rails but got these for less than £75… deliverd new … :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Le Mans is fantastic,I went 4 times in the early 2000’s.watch for sneaky speed cameras in France. Take clothing for all weather conditions.good luck sleeping if you’re camping! Try the museum,it’s really good.I must make it there again someday.

‘Just have to hope’ :crossed_fingers:

No worries…dunno what MX-5 you have ?

Indeed managed to keep Panasonic Battery going on Bullit after both the AA and my garage re-charging it plus using a solar panel

But when it died…it really died

[Major Stress as cream crackered old lady having to change the battery myself…Posted somewhere on here my experiences]

For some reason the Monty Python ‘dead parrot sketch’ is in my head

This battery is not dead…

Apologies…my sense of humour

Well decided to take the plunge after 18mths of deliberating - weighing up the pros, cons, expense and hopeful outcome.
BBR super 200 tune package complete with mid pipe and GT exhaust.
Has turned my already great 2012 Venture into an even more enjoyable driving experience without altering any characteristics :+1:

A nice clean MOT and service ahead of my big France/Switzerland/Germany Alps/Black Forest loop in a few weeks time.

The car went through without any advisories, although there wasn’t much room for manoeuvre on emissions. I’m glad I’ve got the two cat BBR exhaust option.

Watched the oil change on the gearbox, which set my mind somewhat at rest: lovely clean oil and no metal bits on the plug. It had only done 5k miles since the last change, but none the less.

Full strip back and Dinitrol now and some new chassis bracing to be installed before I collect the car on Friday.

Got the yellowing off the head lights

Nice work! :+1:

A few years or so ago my Mother was told by the local garage that they’d done their best to remove the yellowing so that it would pass the MOT but it would be a fail next year as the headlights would need replacing as the yellowing would return.
The next year she went out with toothpaste and a cloth before the MOT, result was a pass and it continued to pass on the lights up until she sold it.

So, was it Colgate or Crest you used?

Decent beading results after a coat of Chemical Guys Wet Mirror Finish. Just got to see how it dries when the rain eventually stops long enough.

Got a couple of mods done over the last couple of days including fitting a new Pioneer SPH 360 dab head unit and the Moss Europe trunk lid liner to add a bit more sound deadening to the rear of the car.

Does the boot liner make a difference?

I was wondering about that as they’re not cheap.
