After last week’s club meet at Stonor Park it was in dire need of a wash, so I took him down to the jet wash for a proper rinse to get rid of most of the muck and then finished him off with a rinseless wash…. and as treat he also got a stubby antenna for being a good boy

I spent part of the afternoon in the garage with the footy on R5 while giving the car some attention. First, I cleaned the windows, then clay-barred them and finished with a coat of RainX until I can restock my GTechniq G1.
Next, I moved on to the interior plastics, starting with the rear tray where the roof folds in, after spotting some sticky residue.
Finally, I broke out the ChipX paint I’ve been meaning to use on a couple of stone chips on the A-frame, where a bit of surface rust had started to show.

Following on touching up the stone chips, i noticed a larger deep scratch on the driver side door 
The car is full of light scratches! I have no idea what the previous owners dragged across the bonnet, but there are some pretty impressive straight lines.

I think I’m just about done with interior mods for now. Just added the Jass handbrake and drift button. Surprisingly robust and I think it looks a lot sharper.

Gosh golly no. They go in place of a screw securing the door card behind the fitting for the OG door handles. You would need to get the door card off to remove the OG door handles, but that is pretty easy.

Dropped a new battery into my wee NC, it’s been a bit reluctant to start recently and last Friday refused to even attempt to start outside of my work which was…..interesting to say the least, fortunately I managed to get it jump started and home again. Due to work and family stuff the car sat for a week before I could get a chance to look at it, hopped in yesterday, turned the key and nothing happened, I popped the battery that was in the car onto the charger and it was showing 5v and refused to take a charge. One trip to Halfrauds for a new battery later and I’m back to having a happy car that fires up instantly.

I’ve done the same mod to my car, dead easy to do, looks far better than the oe Mazda door pulls and gives a bit more space in the cabin. Well worth the money.
