So mine I think were from Rev9, they had the oem mounting pins.

There’s carbonmiata and they are cheaper but are adhesive.

Let’s lots of really good priced ones on eBay and aliexpress but cant confirm if they are the right size (nose and bum Mazda emblems are dofferent sizes for example).

Hi, thanks for the info. I think I’ll go for the aluminium Carbon Miata in gloss black, seems reasonable at around £100 for the full set.

Thanks once again.

Removed and repaired my mk2.5 droopy eyeball dash vents, I wish I’d videoed it, I’m delighted with them

Installed the modified seatbelt guides for my NC. Great improvement for seatbelt return. Small quality of life upgrade.

Having been quoted £1400 plus VAT to PPF the bonnet and front of my ND, I’ve bought a diy kit for the bonnet to try. For a practice run, I also bought a headlamp kit which I tried earlier today. If nothing else, it’s given me sufficient confidence to attempt the bonnet.
Efforts not shown on the photo as you wouldn’t see it anyway, but the engine bay will never look this clean again so I took a photo of that instead

looks so clean! you just need to get an aftermarket silicone elbow to replace the oem connected (between MAF sensor and throttle body). that coregated rubber is already white. get a nice shiny black one and this engine bay looks award worthy for presentation

Got sick of the old rusty wheel nuts and invested in the MaxGuard Composite Wheel Nuts. https://ebay.us/m/iqR1K4

They sure look nice and are easy to fit with the adaptor that comes with the pack.

A silicone hose to replace the bellows is a bit extreme. It just needs a bit of work with some Auto Glym Plastic & Rubber.

Or that ^ looks slot on

Thanks. Would love to take credit for it but it looked like this when I collected it last week. I hadn’t noticed the hose but now can’t ‘un-see’ it. In fairness, it’s a 2017 car. Will try to clean it up as Kiwidave suggests.

My ND is 2015, I bought it in 2023;- it’s coming up for its third birthday in August. The engine was clean but needed a bit of tidying. The corrugated hose looked just like yours. Took the hose off, gave it a good spray with Auto Glym and left it to soak for a while before buffing it with a soft rag. It came up quite well but I then gave it a repeat treatment in-situ a few times and now it just gets a wipe every few months. It’s not hard to keep the engine bay clean, just takes a bit of work and the right products to do the initial cleaning and polishing. Enjoy your ND!

Dyno Day!!

got the car onto the dyno (and good to meet some local MX-5 owners coming for the company and experience  )

Didnt make the horsepower expected. shame. Would love to get it alongside an ND2 to compare the difference on a same dyno, same day.

more work to be done! either inlet manifold, or head back off for bigger valves next

if anyone wants to have a natter about it, i’ll be dropping lots of graphs, charts and other cool data bits in my build thread later.
but this is what ive done today

Did you have a baseline figure for yours, done on the same dyno?

yes.
i’m up about 13bhp. (cams, head, porting, intake, inlet manifold).
and about +4lbsft. (comparing same dyno)

all will be in the build thread later

My 2016 car is now at 60000 miles so an oil and filter change after 6000 miles. One thing I like about the ND is that one can fill the new filter with oil before fitting it as it is mounted vertically. A 4 Litre container of 5W-30 was sufficient. Put copperslip on the undertray bolts and sprayed Dynax on the subframe. A satisfying few hours work.

Its the weekend, and its hot and sunny - so i’ll go first with the flurry of car washes

Car cleaned.

i unearthed a tyre gel a few months ago. been sat on my detailing shelves for years but never used. now i cant stop using it. lasts for hundreds of miles.

this is a tyre half-done

and then once coated, i give it a quick overspray with ‘wet look’.

the rest of the car will get covered in muk and look dirty 10min down the road. but this tyre wall will look like this for a couple of tanks of fuel
