I have considered having a stall at a rally but I would need some form of shelter, display table etc. I’d also need to take all that and stock in a large vehicle as well as taking my own car as a demonstrator. Don’t have business use on either of our vehicles so more expense there.
While it’s fine for members to sell their used parts and pass them on to the buyer at the rally I don’t think me selling from my boot in the car park would be cricket. I don’t know how much the likes of MX5Parts pay for setting up shop but I don’t think it would go down well if I were to do a black market stall.
I’m not looking to build a big business empire, my customer recommendations are bringing in as much business as I need. Just me working from home to boost my work pension until I get my state pension. Don’t want to be working full time again.
All my prices in the for sale section are including UK p&p.

Got all your points Roadie. I’d like one of your MX5 Rear smoked wind breakers. But need to just view the product first. Be nice if you were in Essex. I’d come to you and pay cash if it suits me… Ray
The pictures above are my prototype fitted to a local member’s car. I’m sure if you have a browse around the car park at Claydon you will spot some more!
I Will do that ( take a look for one fitted to a car at the show ) good idea… thanks. Best regards. From Ray ( Epping ) Essex… ps I’m 99% sure I will buy one Soon… RH
Although I have a Mk4, I’ve got a “Roadie” wind blocker which is pretty much the same as a Mk3 wind blocker. I’ll be at the Claydon on Sunday, you’re more than welcome to view mine.
I have to add that I’m well pleased with mine.
Hi Rising sun. In your opinion, Is there not a better way of fixture ?
Is there a need for the side slide bits that show all the glue etc ? Maybe it would look better without the side bits ? Are they necessary and could the glass be slid out whilst two little securing screws were inserted in each line ? Just asking Anyway Thanks for reply, will look out for you at the. National rally … Ray Hill
Yes, It does look much nicer I’m in the middle of buying one at this moment, One thing though… Wouldn’t it be a nicer finish if the glass was able to be slid out and the two side runners two little screws each side ( into the arches ) rather than all the glue on show ? Thanks for your message. Best regards from Ray Hill…
I’ve put chrome hoop covers on my MX5 and put temporary insert’s in each hoop, I cannot show you because I have not mastered the technique in sending. Photos… etc… But this is the way to go for anyone wanting to give a bit of extra interest or flair to the rear of the MX5’s. My hoop inserts cost £20 including paint looks the bees knees too. Best regards. Ray in Essex.
I haven’t got Botoxed lips ! We leave that to the “Only Way is Essex“ girlies. Sadly one of them has overdone the lips and has to do a three point turn at the end of each shopping isle. …
I replaced the stereo in my NB with a bluetooth radio. I wanted something with more of a retro look that I could play music off my phone, and this one fitted the bill. Cheap as chips off ebay and worked perfectly straight out the box.
The old unit weighs a ton! Managed to wrestle it out without too much hassle.
I amazed myself by getting the bluetooth working with no problems despite the chinglish instructions. Amazing little box. It also has aux, sd card and usb input. Bass, treble, balance and front/back fader. And a radio of course. Antenna goes up and down with the ignition. Things have come on a bit since the last time I fitted a radio to a car - which was a mk1 Cortina GT in 1973!
Total outlay including wiring adapter and fascia less than 30 pounds.
Actually easier! I had a lightbulb moment and realised I could fit the radio, in its cage, to the fascia plate and bend a few tabs over to hold it in place. Then the complete assembly just clipped into the panel. Simples!
Finally got around to replacing the front shock on my mk1, the mot tester just verbally commented on a bit of misting last november! Went fairly well, I initially tried without removing the top arm long bolt but after that was removed it was easy. Just got the other side to do now!
