What have you done to your MX-5 today? (Part 2)

Fitted Jass console delete carpet; not really impressed with the quality. Its a bit of generic black car carpet, with a pile that doesn’t match the looped pile used in the majority of NAs. Edges are not bound, so when fitting it, it starts to fray. I need to go around the adges with a lighter to seal them. Waiting on the Jass tombstone piece, but probably that will need some modification to fit with the Zoom shifter ring

Starting preparing to fit a KG Works (copy) boot spoiler. Previous spoiler had been fitted, and the KG Works doesn’t quite cover the footprint of the previous, so I need to work on the paint a bit. Plus the old spoiler wore a little spot.

Took my California on what was probably the wettest day of the year so far for a 4 wheel alignment to Pro-grip in Larbert.
(An hour away but recommended by Robin @Scottishfiver who met up with me and bought me breakfast :+1:thanks Robin, much appreciated…)

Great service and a very noticeable difference. Car feels less twitchy and more planted, even in the rain…

Fitted shiny illuminated door pull inserts. I would post a link but I got them from AliExpress and the seller is no longer trading.

Why would you use this? Is it not better to let the old oil drain out under gravity? If you convince me I’ll buy one!

Think it would be handy to pump oil in too. Especially gear and diff oils.:+1:

Draining oil is always messy, for me anyhow but you do still have the filter to deal with.
Unless you want to change oil more frequently than filters, then it would make sense…

Engine wise, I would Stick with the drain plug if I were you.
Which is just so simple as you know.
I think the vast majority of us change the filter at the same time anyway. (Why wouldn’t you really).
Which is a bit tricky with access anyway, but done once you know the routine.
An individual thing perhaps.

In addition, magnetic drain plugs are magnetic…for a reason.

Like Theo86, I too fitted a new gear lever, bushings etc. had to call into a local garage for their assistance in fitting the nylon cup.
