Very smart……
Is your dash trim a replacement or has it been wrapped? Been thinking about getting rid of the glossy in mine but not sure if springing for the 3m stuff is worth it for my first wrap attempt.
Thanks in advance
It”s wrapped, but not with vinyl. It’s carbon fibre with a resin coating, just like the real thing. Easy Composites sell kits with everything you need. It’s a laborious job, but the end result is good.
Thank you for your response! Certainly an interesting alternative, I will keep it mind if I can’t find a decent brushed metal wrap (to mimic the 180£ brushed metal panel on mx5parts).
Cheers!
First pic is before and standard, pics two and three are after Tein flex Z install, as they came out of the box but measurements checked with the technical data supplied, which were all correct.
Seems to sit a little low at the rear, but that maybe as it’s an RF.
I’ll leave it for a couple of hundred miles then adjust it, along with a full alignment.
Initial impression after a 2 mile shakedown is that it’s very compliant now, much more what I’m after compared with the Bilstein/sport springs set up.
I think you need to adjust the settings on the Teins, or maybe the pics.
Fitted Jass NA console delete trim. This is intended to cover up the end of the tombstone if the centre console is deleted. I recently fitted a 96+ JDM tombstone, which is quite rare, to replace a chopped up/modified 89-95 tombstone. I didn’t want to chop this part.
Ordered from Bofi, who instead sent me the carpet, and then messed me around over returning it, so I ended up buying that as well.
Overall, the trim part is pretty ■■■■.
The carpet is not OE style; doesn’t come anywhere near matching the common 89-95 looped pile carpet. In addition, the cutting was not that good, and it was fraying.
I fitted my Zoom shifter ring to this, punch some holes through the carpet, and sandwich the ring between the carpet and an old frame from an upper shift boot… The delete console piece does not fit very well, and needed a fair amount chopping out to clear the shifter. Its not worth the £30+ charged for it, as it is an extremely simple fiberglass bit, supplied with cheap self tappers (I used the factory screws)
Good to hear that you like the LED boot strip. Put another 14 kits together today so plenty more where that came from.
Well Roadie I have now bought your tinted glass wind blocker and I can honestly say it is a lovely little item that give the MX5 that little extra touch It took me about 20 minutes to fit I have added a “ sport “ motif Which gives it a bit of extra interest, I am still figuring out how to send photos to this web site
It’s not difficult to send photos, you just click on the picture emblem at the bottom right of your screen, the one that looks like a picture with hills and sun.
That takes you to files on your phone and you find the file/pic you want and click on it.
Yes, I am sure you are right, But I am no ‘spring chicken‘ Unlike you younger lads. These things may sound a ‘ piece of cake ‘ But to me The Internet is like a million light years away. My last mobile phone run on coal … I have pictures on my iPad will that do ? Or will I have to try to send them via my mobile phone? Anyway Thanks for your kindness in this matter. I will have a go at inserting photos using your advice, best regards from Ray Hill Epping Essex. Ps there’s no picture emblem in the bottom right of my iPad screen ! Nor a motive of hills and mountains There’s a “ bell “ though ‘ding’ ‘ding‘ time to go before I give you a subdural Ematoma Best regards from Ray
Fantastic illustrations I wish I had the mental wit to be able to converse on these pages with photos. I will try to master how it is achieved … best regards from Ray Hill club member Epping essex
The symbol only appears when you click on reply and get a box you can type into.
It will be just below the bottom right of that (blue edged on my screen) box
Should work fine on your ipad.
I’m 70 btw
I hope the screenshot below helps with adding pictures, if you’re logged in/replying from your ipad (or the device that has the pictures) you should be able to select and add the pictures you’d like.
I’m 80 myself and still love tinkering with cars. My neighbours walk past and say to me Ray you might be 80 but you have a young head !

Just ordered this beauty from Jatex. It will replace my existing twin outlet box which I find too loud on acceleration. If anyone wants my current twin outlet box please get in touch. I am having it fitted when my car goes to Eden Mazda later this month for its new cam belt plus a load of service bits for the MOT.
Looks lovely Hope it solves your noise issue, looks very well made it looks quite similar to my back twin box but I don’t know the manufacturer as it was on the car when I bought it, Best regards from Ray Hill club member Epping area Essex
