That’s disappointing to hear it’s a common problem as I was thinking of buying a second-hand gauge face off eBay, but it sounds like I could end up with one just as bad. My concern now is that I might get a lot of glare off the gauges now - time will tell.
I wonder if you could get some window tint/anti glare film to put on?
Barrie
I was thinking the same thing and will certainly look into it, but if you’ve ever tried window tinting, or putting a screen protector on a phone, you’ll know you could end up with bubbles, and then I’d be right back to square one
Ha! you’ve seen my work then?
Barrie
Filled tank with £55.00 worth of 99 RON, plus a bottle of Forte Fuel stuff…and gave it reet good back road belting.
Result was…tickover at rest was bang on 750rpm and not the lumpy 650/700rpm this morning…and it’s revving like a nutter. Just needed a little Italian Tune Up.
Next week, oil, filter & plug change and a few fettles for…it’s run to Skye.
EDIT.
Or… when Queen Nippygingernutter of the House of Holyrood says it’s OK to do it.
Thats going to keep you busy for a while
A little fettling of rear subframe and steam cleaned the existing underseal for when my Dinitrol turns up.
More than you know!
So, I got up a bit later than intended this morning (still trying to turn the body clock round from nightshift). Went to go and get cracking only to find the bolts to remove the seats were stuck fast- wouldn’t budge with amount of brute force & ignorance. So thought, I’ll head up the shops for some WD40, none to be had! So had to trail away up to the supermarket for some. By the time I got back, was getting a bit late to start stripping out the cabin, but the other day I picked up some Mazda touch-up paint/clear coat, thought I might as well crack on with giving the car a clean and would fix a few scratches…oh dear. For whatever reason, the clear coat decided to bubble and dried horribly!!! My poor girl looks AWFUL!!! Am gonna have to pay to get her fixed professionally now So yes…my sound-deadening/speaker upgrade has kept me very busy
OUCH
Oh yes
Sorry to hear that. Better luck tomorrow
Yup, tomorrow’s another day, pal
Did you try to blend it? I used genuine touch up for my copper red nc and it was brighter than my paintwork. After some 3000 grit and some compound it’s only noticeable if you shine a bright light and look up close.
Nah, after it bubbled it dried all rough and white bubbles. Absolutely horrendous. I’ve done a wee bit sanding just to try and remove it which has kinda defeated the purpose of applying it in the first place.
There’s a local guy who does mobile paintwork repairs, he’s going to give me a bell tomorrow for a quote
Speak to FozSports in Clackmannanshire.
Excellent, but not the cheapest.
Ask for John.
Thanks for that pal, always good to get a recommendation Will give them a bell too
Finally finished my doors using Alcantara fabric, carbon fibre skinned top panels, satin black painted door pull tops, Mazda brushed alloy door switch panels, JF Customs leather armrest covers, Cup Holder Top Trims and Cup holder Trim Inserts.
Phew, glad that’s over!
Quality mate, again excellent standards set !
Love it! I call her “Queen Nicola of Scotland”.
Looks really good - very subtle and expensive looking.
