What a strange oversight by Mazda Considering it’s excellence in other fields of car manufacture And yes it makes perfect sense to put the roof up and down from outside of the car too… I shall now refrain from doing so Whilst driving …Thanks for your reply Best regards from Ray in (not so leafy) Essex this morning,
Sounds like a little cosseted Gem … It’s always lovely to hear these stories…
Andrew: is that your car in the ‘caption‘ picture ? Green MK1 or MK2? I’m trying to work out what model it would have been 18 years ago …I’ve never owned one of the earlier cars. Mine is 14 years old so it’s getting on a bit. My son used to buy and sell mK 1 models when they were nearly new The price of them was so cheap back then He used to bring them around to show me,
( nearly always a sage green in colour ) Anyway take care and watch this virus it’s still out there My wife sees it in the course of her work… best regards from Ray in Essex…
Thanks Raymond👍 - it does get used for 8 months of the year although its ‘sorned’ now until March. Only failed its MOT once some years ago on headlight alignment so a good track record.
I’ve added a bit to my original post to you … I’m a chatterbox So, beware I do tend to go on a bit. Ask Roadie. But Hey, I’m 81 and get to enjoy a chat rather than just sit twiddling my fingers as most people do at 80+ Best regards from Ray in Essex… take care …
Its a MK 2 face lift (2003) in splash green as in my profile photo. It was a 2003 colour limited to 738 made so you don’t see many around. There are other members on here though who have the same colour.
Thanks for the update Andrew, Sometimes the stories that accompany the cars are as interesting as the cars themselves. I like the way certain cars become unique in themselves by being limited editions or having limited status for one reason or another. I recently sold my “RCZ Magnetic” limited edition (Only 126 ever built) That sold immediately it went on the market just because of its limited edition appeal … take care. I’m thinking of changing my user name to Chatterbox ! … Best regards from Ray. In Essex …
In the meantime guys, don’t mention the 40 + million potholes still not attended to … I recently saw five Council workers staring down one…
I asked them ‘what they were staring down it for, One of them replied “ We are waiting for our mate to climb out“ “ He’s got the key‘s to our ‘tea hut in his pocket” !
Hey, where did you get your mats? They are mega
I’m loving my high end custom painted calipers (Soul Red, to match my car colour exactly…a girl gotta have class)! Note the last picture is so you can see how it’s going to match
Lovely car … Enjoyable post too… Thanks CoolCatz Bet there’s a few envious faces around your area… are you a footballers “Cling-on” ? Anyway. Good luck to you That beauty is there to enjoy !
I’ve re visited your post about six times to look at your stunning example of a ND …
As they say you get what you pay for.
Very nice job indeed.

Sorned it!
Calipers look stunning.
Now you just have to keep them like that…
Wheels off and toothbrush??
Shiny…
Yes, toothbrush will come out for cleaning I’m sure, my pride and joy every single day
Cleaned, claybar’d and dried the car ready for polish and ceramic. Just as car was dry it started to rain.
Happens every damn time, starting to think metoffice is out to get me.
I know a bit about this “ personalising “ trait that many of us enjoy , So I must say. Your Calliper job is ‘ first class ‘ … actually ‘Par excellent‘ , Bless you and your lovely ND …
Been to WIM and had some Meister Rs fitted and aligned.
It’s been a long wait for them to come back into stock but a huge thanks to Tony & Joe for all their help and expertise in getting them in and fitted today.
Initial verdict?
Money well spent
