the induction noise and hearing the engine bubbling is what love the most in mine
New oil and filter, plus new uprated dip and main beam bulbs. They were a pain in the ar#e ! Took out screen wash bottle and deep cleaned internally to get all the black snot out!
New roof from MX5-Parts in Portsmouthā¦
Had a nice meal at Frankie and Bennies and watched the latest James Bond film next door while they did the work. Looks great, the original 25 year old roof really needed replacing!
One quick pic before it got dark, āfunā drive home going through some massive puddles on the A27!
Looks great
Perfect time of year to replace the hood, and it does look goodā¦!

Now the hood is up needed to get the air con sorted, I did try Halfords Autocentre to be told that their machines couldnāt attach.
Tried Kwik-Fit not expecting much but actually it was no trouble. Out of gas and oil(?)ā¦but now fully topped up and blowing very cold. Hope there is no leak so will monitor over the next few weeks. (Ā£49).
Looks really smart - where did you get the smaller plates from and is the quality good?
Where did you get the blanking plate from and were there any other parts needed to tidy up the pipes / hoses connected there?
Would appreciate any tips on how to remove the ISEā¦
Came as part of a ākitā from MX5parts ISE Removal Kit, MX5 Mk3 3.5 3.75 (other kits may be available) However, I believe itās a genuine OEM part, probably available at any Mazda dealer as is the replacement hose front the air filter to the throttle body. Iāve thrown away the bag that had the part numbers on it but Iām sure someone else would have posted them on here already.
There are many ways to tidy up the hoses., Iāve seen posts on here that have fabricated brackets or used cable ties. Iāve secured with insulating tape as a temporary measure
Glanced at mine as I got in the Van, making a mental note to sort the headlight fogging out after we get the house move over and done with
Plates came from no1 plates? In Leeds I think. You have to supply driving licence copy and v5 copy as proof of ownership, cost forty something quid. Seem very good quality as well with edge lines and centre logo and very prompt deliver
Oh. And as itās just had its tenth birthday I gave it a pair of new wiper bladesā¦
Took Tizzy to the doctors (The MX5 Restorer) for an assessment on the NHS.
Sheās got a bad cold and a rash but fortunately the prognosis is good. It looks worse than it is and nothing that canāt be cured with some TLC and cosmetics. Luckily, no surgery required, but unlike the assessment, the care needed isnāt free.
Canāt fault the service and welcome provided by The MX5 Restorers, top blokes and my thanks go out to Roy. No doubt will see them again in the New Year.
Canāt quite put my finger on it but Iām sure there is something missing.
Was a nice mild day so thinking I might not get a chance for a while I washed the car. Owned this car for over a year now, I bought it because it was low miles, well looked after etc and not for the colour, after about 1.5yrs ownership Iām still not sold on the Copper Red.
I like the colour
