What’s your instrument?

Glad we’re back with our instruments - Thanks Ian! :+1:

Just back from Derbyshire in the 5, where spent time improvising, singing and playing with old friends, also musicians! :guitar: :musical_keyboard: :violin:

How did you manage to get the thread back again, did you bribe Ian? :joy:

To change the subject, do any of you play this instrument?

David

Nope - I guess he just took pity on us - or…

Looks amazing!! Not sure I have the cash to splash, but if I won the lottery it would be first on the list!

I wonder (no pun intended) if it can double up as a shove ha’penny board?

Did you take the :guitar: :musical_keyboard: :violin: in the 5? :flushed:

Nope! The keyboards were already there and the fiddle - just took the Bodhran, Uke and my voice.

Would have been interesting trying to fit them all in  - guitar and fiddle OK with no passenger- but the keyboard  - well as I’m famously lacking in the height department, perhaps behind my seat, with the top down… with  for a dry journey and no :umbrella:!!!

Still if we had our gig rig no problemo! :truck:

We took our 5 for it’s service in Cambridge in January and went into the city centre, while there my wife wanted to go to a music shop to get a guitar strap for one of her numerous guitars and came out with a Taylor acoustic guitar, fortunately they couldn’t find the box for it, so we only had the gig bag. We managed to fit her and the guitar in the passenger seat with a bit of juggling.

Well Done - both of you.

Hope the journey wasn’t too long!

Also hope your good lady enjoys the Taylor :musical_note: :notes:

Fortunately it’s only 45 minutes. She had to have the action lowered and thinner strings fitted, it now plays great. :+1:

Keen to hear from other players, singers etc.

Then there’s that gig!
Talking of which - went a gig performed by a pupil of mine from the late 70’s.
He still recognised me and acknowledged me as the person whoi taught him his first chords.
Makes it all worthwhile - passing on the :musical_note: :notes: :musical_note: :guitar:

Check him out - Steve Pledger!

Just spotted this on Facebook. Never seen anything like it.

That looks like a quick-compare test bed for different pickup specifications, windings, magnets, hum-bucking, or something else?
Your guess is as good as mine.

That’s a bit of a trick guitar, it does look like something Steve Vai would have😂. It could be a test bed for different pickups as Richard said.

I prefer Michael Angelo Batio: Double Guitar Shred Medley…

Where to start on that one?
I can only just about cope with the 2 humbuckers on mine!
Re Batio - instructive and v. interesting skill set!
Reminds me of the double necked guitars ( a mate of mine had one in the 70s) and even triple necked as played by Chris Squire of Yes- a Wal triple-neck bass consists of 3 double-course guitar, fretted and fretless 4-string basses.
Also John Paul Jones had a triple necked.
Learned from Wikipedia multinecked instruments go right back to the Renaissance!
Rock on Henry VIII!

I’m still trying to remember where and when I saw this being played back in the early 1970’s, and a few minutes ago I found a link to Roger Newell’s article in Bassist.
I still enjoyed a drink in those days so several of the many gigs we went to are very well fogged, but that triple neck was amazing!!!
