Deep Purple Made in Rock
Think your mind is playing tricks on you.
Was that âDeep Purple in Rockâ or Deep Purple Made in Japanâ.
Lol well I have both
In Rock the first
All great albums and donât forget Fireball.
Hands up if you have played air guitar over the intro of Smoke on the Water.
Not me! Seen it live!
Yep, seen them live as well but with Coverdale
I saw them live but unfortunately Richie Blackmore had just left and an American guitarist called Tommy Bolin was his replacement, he was very good but the crowd wanted Blackmore.
The Beatles Hard Days Night.
On cassette for my 8th Birthday. (It had been released many years earlier)
meatloaf ⌠bat out of hell
Yessongs.
Music aside, that was an album experience never bettered.
Triple vinyl.
Covers open up to 4 foot long.
Posters.
Postcards.
And Roger Dean graphics plastered all over it.
You donât get that from an MP3 download!
You must have a different edition to me (K60045 1973). Mine is a triple LP set but the cover is bound like a book (album!) with 4 âpagesâ, three containing the records and the fourth with a photo booklet.
Part of the lure of the vinyl album was looking at the art work and reading the sleeve notes while listening to the music. Occasionally you would get an additional 12x12 sheet of notes inside the sleeve too.
âWaiting For The Sunâ - The DoorsâŚ, purchased summer 1969.
Second album purchased shortly afterwardsâŚ, equal first really.
âElectric Music for the MInd and Bodyâ - Country Joe and the Fish.
Mine was heartbreaker by Free
Great album. I remember when I was about 17 going around a mates house who was into FREE, I got hooked on Easy On My Soul and it became one of my all time favourites.
Thatâs my favourite track as well, koss had a great style of guitar playing .
