Where have you been in your MX-5 today?

Early morning drive to Finchingfield, coffee and sandwich waiting for me in the cafe…

Camera was repaired last week on the phone…needs to go back. Looks like a 1970s photo.

Up to Crail in Fife for a trackday. If you see this view, you’re trying too hard

Fancy seeing you here :stuck_out_tongue:

How fast were you going when you spun? I was still holding on WOT at 80mph lol.

EDIT: Also, Stephen

I was pleased with myself just for remembering then I realised I couldn’t spell it

Actually no idea how fast when it went, but yeah wot. I think I’d just had a better run out of the hairpin so was going a little faster than I’d got used to. Truth is I held the initial slide OK but just wasn’t quite quick enough to correct when it hooked back up, and just spun the other way instead. Not a bad place to learn a lesson though!

Verdict on the 2.5 group is that I’d just sloshed some oil into the pcv/separator in that huge right hander, I’d be pretty happy if that’s all! Introduction to sticky tyre problems, hopefully.

Heh yeah, I rarely catch slides to be honest, I had quite a few that day and the car was pretty easy to feel what was happening with the AR-1s, so either I’m getting better or they helped that much. Last day (in the wet though) the snap oversteer was insane, my alignment is -2.8 cam front and -2.2 cam rear, that’s probably contributing.

Hopefully you get the smoking issue fixed, here’s hoping it’s just hard cornering causing the fluids to slosh into undesirable locations  .

Grainy dash cam grab of our top down cruise along the golden mile this evening. Finished off with a fish & chips supper of course.

Exciting day today! I had not driven the 5 for over five weeks as a result of having surgery so it was a bit special to get out in the sunshine for a picnic up the coast, followed by a cruise around my favourite country road loop.

Just been out to Epping and on the way back had a NB RX51 in a lovely blue colour in front.

Great sunny day and over to Skipton for a Turkish lunch with Friends parked with good isolation from door damage  always lots of room in the castle car park .

Just drove mine a handful of miles today, to support my local (Manchester) RoSPA Advanced Drivers group.

Short outing at lunchtime so I could capture this momentous occasion…

…26.7 mpg

Making the most of the weather up here. Yesterday it was down to Kielder and today it was down to the north Pennines. Lovely poppy display in Stanhope and then we were treated to a stoat running across the road intently pushing a small red object (ball?) - nothing was stopping it taking its prize away! Dashcam photo attached but unfortunately pretty poor as I had to blow the photo up a lot. Quite a sight though. Rounded off the afternoon with coffee and cake at The Hemmel cafe in Allenheads.
