Where have you been in your MX-5 today?

Drove down to Chiselhurst to daughter’s house

Glenesh Pass, County Donegal. Minus 2 degrees on new tyres. Always fun. Roof down too!

Have you been wearing out those tyres of yours, in the 2nd photo? :joy:

If there’s one ‘advantage’ of storms and rain is that it made mince meat of the salt that was a lying about. Had a nice spin on dry, pretty much salt free roads, sunday and y’day.

I thought @Wardy5 was talking about the slight scuff to the lettering on the front tyre - looks like you’ve got SP SPURTS now

A murky, damp run out up Carlton Bank to Helmsley and back via the ‘North Yorkshire TT’ course. Only one MX5 spotted, white ND shopping in Tesco at Thirsk.

Sounds like a good run out. And the car’s nearly the same colour as when it started out! :grinning:

It blended in nicely in the low cloud/mist of the north yorks moors

Top down shopping drive, pulled into my nearest Sainsbugs in Hillsborough. Well you just have to don’t you?
It’s the rule :slightly_smiling_face:

That’s a bit coy when there’s a space alongside. Not everyone says hey I’ve got the same car as you so you must be my buddy so a sensible discretion there.

Having owned niche cars and bikes over the decades I’m used to greeting fellow owners but I only get 15% returns from Mx5 owners. Used to get 95% when I had the 2CV
I’ll keep saying hello.

You must surely buy a Mx5 because you enjoy driving?
It’s not a great looking car and it’s small size isn’t as silly as an original mini looks now but for the average person they aren’t going to go Wow!
I’m in love with mine as it has all the involvement of driving and easy maintenance that got me into a love affair with single cylinder Ducati some time ago

I think you need to lighten up, it was meant to be a little light hearted comment.
Obviously we have a different take on car ownership and I’ve found the owners club quite friendly but, sadly there are always exceptions.

So happy to hear you’ve owned so many niche vehicles too, I wonder why you only get 15% returns? I get so much more.

Yes of course I enjoy driving and more so in an MX-5, and not wanting to upset you but, I have had plenty of people come over and say wow at my car may be because I’m quite an approachable guy with a pleasant outlook and happy to show interested people what I’ve done to it.

Think you maybe on your own saying the MX-5 isn’t a great looking car as over 1.2 million people and still counting can’t be wrong surely they don’t see its an ugly car (wonder why you even bought one).

Just a little advice maybe you should change your name from Beryl to Victor Meldrew…take a chill pill and enjoy your evening

Methinks you protest too much? I was being light-hearted too.

My MK4 looks great, in fact it looks better than anyone else’s.

Now hold on there! Maybe your being light-hearted too?:+1:

Moi, certainly not.

Quick Christmas morning blast in the BBR. Thanks to Chris and the Mx5 restorer team for getting it sorted. Unfortunately very recent move to the coast means it will have to go, but I’m going to enjoy it while I can. Happy Christmas.
