The Nurburgring..!! Great day.. track was carnage tbh.. never seen it so busy.. got one lap in until track was closed due to 2 crashes. not friendly this time unfortunately. Seemed to be that every other car was an 400bhp+ Msport or 911 GT3.. and pretty intimidating at times, still great though. Onto the museum, awesome..!! Super rare RX7 for the fans on here.. Spa tomorrow..!!
Btw.. Autumn has definitely arrived.. looks beautiful here..
Seeing that the network in the office (in the Netherlands) was playing up and was stopping me from working remotely, I went for a short drive to Southport and back to clear my head.
I also picked up my first ever speeding notification in the post today, thankfully not while driving Moxie but the wife’s Toyota - stupid me for not seeing the signage properly as it went from a 2 lane into a 4 lane road.
Nowhere in particular other than to give the car a run out after having the pulleys and serpentine belt changed.
The good news is that the rattle can noise at low revs has gone. The bad news is that I’ve got the Bjork song It’s Oh So Quiet going through my head - but only because it is
To visit my shrink. First cold, wet, dark rush hour drive for an age and remembered how cosseted I am in my other cars. The windscreen wiper judder is less bearable when you have to have them on all the time, especially as intermittent seems to have tried from service, and as I sat there trying to see the road and other users the knocks and rattles and squeaks all took on hypnotic effect in my intense concentration. I now have a headache. Hopefully the van will be fixed, sold and replaced soon by something as reliable as the Mazda, but easier in such conditions.
Escaped from the wife for a few days and staying in Porlock for coastal and Exmoor walking.
I went to Lynmouth today via the windey toll road onto A39, then up to Simonsbath for a 7 mile walk then drove back over the moor via Exford. All great driving roads but watching out for the occasional sheep or pony.
And if the owner of a grey Mk2 sees this, yes, it was me coming back into Porlock with the roof down in the rain😁. We exchanged waves.
Do AA boxes serve any other purpose other than being a nostalgic reminder of days past? I’m sure you don’t get a key for them with AA breakdown membership nowadays.
