Where have you been in your MX-5 today?

Been another gorgeous day today, we have both had the day off work so took a trip to Jumbles Country Park not far from Bolton, good run there and back and got four for four wave backs from fellow MX5 drivers :wave::wave::wave:.
Cristal Red RF and Ceramic White ND near Horwich roofs open/down :+1: dark blue NC near Tyldesley and a well modified purple/black NB near Atherton.
The picture taken with Jumbles Reservoir in the background just before we left .

On one of my favourite roads today, A686 from Haydon Bridge in Northumberland over to Alston then Hartside Pass to Penrith and on to Keswick. Though the first part of the road from Haydon Bridge is pretty rough, it smooths out well before Alston then the whole road has been re-layed from Alston to Hartside so well worth a visit - really smooth surface - an absolute pleasure, especially on a day like today - I could happily spend all day going back and forward on the road between Alston and Penrith. A break for lunch at the Old Bakery in Melmerby on the way down to Penrith then onto the Lakes and back via A69 (a bit busy but never mind). Saw a few MX5s in the Keswick area but none on the Alston/Hartside road, though there was a Fiat 124 Spider Abarth at the top of Hartside - wouldn’t swap the MX5 for it though. Plenty motorcycles at the top of Hartside too. Nice to see people out and about everywhere, enjoying the sun and eating out. Pity the cafe at the top of Hartside was damaged by fire a couple of years ago - all trace of the cafe is now gone - it was always a hub for bikes, cars and cyclists.

From Plymouth down to Godrevy on the north coast of Cornwall, along the coast to Portreath, then back home again. About 180 miles in total after making a significant detour to avoid a 4 mile tailback! (and only just over a quarter of a tank of petrol used…)
First decent trip in the car since purchase. Certainly blew the cobwebs away - it was rather breezy out there!!

Drove back from Cornwall to Derbyshire. Spent an hour in loose convoy with a Stormy blue mk3.5 roadster on a sunny M5.

Just for a quick local drive to enjoy the sunshine in my lovely little red MK2.
I had re-coated the underside with Wayoyl and Supertrol earlier this week, so spent most of the day giving it a good polish, to get rid of anything that had sneaked up onto the bodywork!
And obviously I had to go for a drive once I had finished?!

Tesco! Funny thing is I must have taken a wrong turn somewhere because my 12 mile round trip ended up being 43 miles. :astonished:

That’s a well known problem for MX-5 owners…! Have a similar “issue” with my local Aldi! :joy:

Thursday, managed three separate trips, with the top down; strange how you can just forget things and just have to go out again and then take the long way home…

I went down to Aldi on Tuesday, only needing to go back again on Wednesday as I’d forgot to a couple of things! (Accidentally on purpose!), and my MX-5 prefers the longer scenic route there and back…!

Took it skiing, or at least I was skiing on the snow indoors while the NC was glad to be out of the garage and just enjoying soaking up the sun outside.

Socially distanced skiing means no queues for the lifts, almost empty slope, good snow, and they had brand new skis, and I failed to recognise others in the ski club because of face masks. However while antisocial, this has the bonus of less chatting and more skiing.

Heaven.

Went for a drive to and a walk around one of my local marinas in pembrokeshire, after my first weekend of mx5 ownership/driving I forgot about the suncream so I’m now dealing with sunburn but I would say it was worth it :slightly_smiling_face:

Went for my first haircut this year! - A No1 has never felt so good  Then onto Aldi as my fridge was bereft of beer!! Nice little scenic run back as always, so all’s good…!
Saw an ND in Rainworth too - Not a waver lol!

IKEA Nottingham, good job it was only a flat pack stool.
Spotted another true red sport on our way out of the car park.

At least she shaved her moustache off.

Finally returned to our favourite Greek restaurant in Burton waters. Been a long time coming and really enjoyable even though today has been freezing.

Just back from a blast to Bath and back

Run out to Latham today, beautiful sunshine, but a bit of a chilly breeze along the promenade.
Saw a very nice crystal red RF pulling out of the car park

Popped over to see my brother, and my car got to see its distant relative at the same time!
