Out to Chester in shorts, to buy some shorts. If you’ve got nobly knees, flaunt them. Mine are knobbly, so I don’t go too short.
Only saw one 5, a black and lowered NC3, but I think its driver didn’t realise why we waved at him, as he was waiting to join traffic behind us.
Then a nightime drive back up to Cumbria, on a much quieter but still under renovation M6.
Roof down all day, 140 miles, from 24 Celsius to 12 Celsius.
Sweeeeeeeet!
Went for a ride out with some biker mates to Instow.
Spot the odd one out…
Got there first somehow.
Beautiful weather
Stunning spot.
Great pasty
Stunning, empty roads.
What a great day
A short drive to pick up a fan for the bedroom and gas for the bar b que.
Just in time for the weather to go pear-shaped here in the Cotswolds!
Still, enjoyed the drive.
The weather will turn here soon too. Shame, as my car is all shiny.
Ace profile name btw.
To my local barbershop for my regular Number 1 buzzcut…
Feels so much better on a hot summers day like today
Scenic route back home and all’s good…!

Stopped on the road between Tideswell and Castleton. Got this pic of the RF gleaming in the sun even though it needed a wash!
On top of the world at the viewing point for the Great Hucklow gliding club. Got chatting to two old guys who were there and they were admiring the MX5!
Was the car happy going up that track? I was there this Sunday but it looked rather humped in the middle and quite lumpy later on so I wussed out, worrying about my sump!
It was no problem at all. I was a bit anxious going up but no grounding whatsoever and well worth it. The views on a clear day are fantastic and even on a week day there was lots of action from the gliders plus loads of hang-gliders in the distance.
Out for drinks… 1st to Aldi for some Rheinbacher Pilsner for me, and then Esso for some Synergy 99+ for the '5…!

Just back from the annual pilgrimage to the Mazda dealer at Riverside Northampton for MOT and Service. Passed former with flying colours and all green on the service - the guy behind the desk said they called him out to the workshop, when EOO was on the lift, and said that the underside was pristine!! It is low mileage - however I do use my MX5 for long runs - Cornwall, the coast, Dorset and on the A1 - which is about a mile away and at least once a fortnight and I will use it more when we are clearer about the Covid Virus and variants.
Drove back with the top down along the lovely bendy B645 with a soppy grin on my face and ‘walkin’ on sunshine’ ringing in my head… Happiness!
That’s great news! Obviously well cared for car! Nice when all goes well
Barrie
Thanks Barrie,
It’s a classic car of the future; I want to keep it looking good and most importantly driving well!
Great to drive and enjoy now too!

Thursday lunch break from work to Askam beach, with a spot of cleaning and maintenance.
Pics not because they are good (I am aware there’s a car in the way), but just because I promised a while ago to show you Furness.
I appreciate most of you were up north today but did anyone go Brands for Tuner Fest South. Good day. Lots of mx5 and Eunos about! And even saw my YouTube favourite.
Me too
