Chucked a lithium battery in. 13kg saved!

Is that a pair of pliers?

Oops pardonâŚ
Somebody get this man a cuddly toy!
Yep. I had to ask my better half to reach in and fish it out. ![]()
Fitted (after some angst over a pair of pliers) the IL Motorsport coolant tank. Very smart and seems far more sturdy than OEM.
Fitted a Guardian Designs steering wheel and matching alcantara boots to my 30th Anniversary
Full details on the car can be found here
Opened the passenger door and put my rally pass on the seat so it doesnât get left behind on Sunday
Finally sorted my rear fog and reverse lighting back to standard. Filled the rubbish holes drilled by others in the boot floor with grommets and paint. Fitted led bulbs in the lights .
Also decided to get back under the car⌠you thought I would have learnt by now. I had an exhaust leak and advisory on the last 2 motâs with the previous owner of the BBR joint from the cat pipe to the resonator silencer pipe . I kept finding exhaust paste crumbled off it on the floor. The place where I bought it, obviously just smeared a load on it. Plan was to get a new Mikalor 2.5 inch clamp, clean it up on the joint, smear silicon on the joint and push together and fit the new clamp . Well, some idiot killed his right shoulder last weekend. So trying all that on the floor , with the axle stands âcreakingâ I thought, sod that. So, I took it to a local garage that I get to service my fleet of work vans. Came back all done and the boss man couldnât get over how clean the car was underneath and up top !. He was impressed, which was cool and a bill of zero. I am not one to accept that, even if I do spend a bit on van servicing and repairs with him, so will get some donuts and stuff from the bakers tomorrow as payment for the lads there. Must admit it sounds a lot better now and idles a little smoother. Maybe just placebo effect from being done , but happy thatâs off the list, ready for the run on Sunday.
That is a tremendous ideaâŚ
Can I ask which one you went for and why you changed it in the first place? Regards
Sprayed a load of silicone spray in the hood storage area to try to eradicate an annoying squeak when the roof is down.
I went for a Guardian Designs one, full wheel replacement so I still have the original if I wanted to return it to factory.
I wanted the alcantara found in the 30AE interior to carry through to the steering wheel and wanted it to be a bit thicker too:
Went for an orange noon marker to top it off along with orange stitching to match the rest of the interior ![]()
Nice. I am thinking of changing my wheel as I find it a bit on the thin side and was also considering a flat bottom design one to free up a bit of space.
Running in my new bearings/piston rings on the drive to the rally, then oil and filter change in a premier inn car park! ![]()
Had my worst evening as a member but Iâm not allowed to swear being being anti trans is fine but me swearing isnât.
Hope youâve not been offended by a fellow OC-erâŚ
Saw you and your fab car - keep doing what YOU want to do ![]()
Changed the Ferodo rear pads to genuine Mazda items in the hope of eliminating the dreaded pad rattle. I never had a problem until I fitted aftermarket pads and although I found a great grease which stops said rattle, I thought Iâd go back to oe and see if it totally cures it. Such a pity as Ferodo are great pads generally and Iâve so little miles of wear on them.
Sorry you had to put up with whomever that was. You be your happiest self and frak anyone who doesnât understand.
Catch up on the last monthâs bits and pieces:
Spring poppers, brake light strip, and molly panel fitted to boot lid - canât see but added 2mm sound deadening to boot floor and (strategically) rear wings). Also shorty aerial and led strip inside the boot so I can see in there when itâs dark ![]()
ILSports Aluminium pedals and scuff plate. Aliexpress speaker grills are hiding a set of JBL Stadium GTO600Câs (woofers through the cross over, tweaters have a 4.7uF capacitor) replacing the bose ones. Also more sound deadening in the doors (regularly travel across the country, and happy to lose a little road noise).
