What have you done to your MX-5 today? (Part 2)

Used them myself in the past. Excellent service

Didn’t have to do anything to my MX-5 today so i just looked at it and smiled. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Thanks , I thought about for lamps I agree that the car needs them.

Hey, kind of two jobs done in one go. I replaced my mirrors—from red to black—and they’re from a 3.5, so the shape is a bit different. I also had a second pair of window slides that I sanded down, cleaned, and painted black again. The old ones were looking really crispy, as you can see in the picture.

And that was in addition to replacing my roof from red to black

How hard was it to replace the mirrors, did you need to remove the door cards?

And wow, you replaced to roof too! Wouldn’t it had been easier/cheaper to wrap it?

It isn’t too hard to replaced the mirrors, yes you do need to remove the door card so you can unplug the cable but still not a hard job.

For the roof yes definitely will be easier and cheaper to wrap it. but i have a second car for parts and the roof was in really good condition, so i decide to just swap the roofs and try to sell the old one

Having fitted a new soft top to my stepsons MR2 and few weeks ago, i noticed how faded mine was getting. So i decided to try to revive it s bit.

Cleaned and masked it up so i didnt splash it on to my precious paintwork.

Will leave it to dry for a few hours and see if it needs a second coat. It went on very easily as its quite watery. I made sure to close the garage door to keep the bloody cats off it!

What wing is that? It looks really good.

I got it from a friend it is an audi TT wing that actually fit so well with just a little bit of trim

Is it much of a job to remove the slides? Mine needs doing

Similar to the mirrors, you need to remove the door card. There is a 14mm nut on the bottom and two 10mm bolts on the top. You also need to unhook the weather seal slightly to give yourself some room, then just pull it out. Putting it back is a bit trickier, but I wouldn’t say it’s hard
