What have you done to your MX-5 today? (Part 2)

Hiya! Looking good :+1: you going to B o’ F’s on Sunday

Hopefully if I am fit enough. Have just spent 5 days in hospital after a haemorrhage Thursday night. Not been a great few days really, missed my dad’s funeral Friday because of it.

So sorry to here this  I hope you are better soon from this particular problem. Never mind your other health issues. I’m sure we can catch up at some point. Such a shame about the funeral too :worried:

Barrie

Passed MOT with just one advisory for grease on a brake pipe

I can now tackle the renovation of the leather seats. Just need to find someone to do it !

To grease or not to grease that is the question. If you had left it it would probably have said they are rusty. Not bad for the age of the car, happy days.:+1:

Congrats on the ticket. Your car looks a million dollars :+1:

Wow! That’s a new one on me. I used to brush all my brake pipes with grease to stop them rusting. I suppose it could be said that greasing them may hide any signs of leakage/weeping but what about brake pipes covered in underseal etc?

Cleaned it today after a car club meet attended by at least 100 vehicles.
It’s great to be getting some socialising back on the agenda !

Where was this show?

Replaced the old scuffed fascia panel and added some wee chromed rings to the A/C controls to match the gearknob & handbrake sleeve. Rather snazzy, methinks

Love the JVC screen!

Car looks great

Rob is very good, they arrived and fitted them. Seem much more substantial vis the 3d printed ones and some very nice quality bolts.

Went for a little test ride and the car felt a bit more front end sharp, happier to turn in. :+1:

Gave it a run out, came back and gave it a wash. Used a new detailing spray I bought afterwards which adds gloss, slickness and some ceramic protection. It appears to have good slickness I found a small spider trying to crawl up it and he couldn’t get a grip and kept slipping backwards :joy:

The Boulevard, Banbridge. Every Wednesday evening apparently.

Many thanks,

When I sold my last motorcycle (several years ago) the chap who bought it, gave me a Lacroe paint sealant and upholstery kit. Forgot all about it until the other day  Doing a bit of research, apparently it’s the fore runner to diamondbrite? Both made (or sold) by Jewelultra.
Application to clean paintwork in straight lines, let it go off and then buff up. It might actually be well past it’s sell by date but was sealed, in its box before I used it. Fingers crossed I’ve not done the paint any damage, it’s actually come up very shiny! No idea about beading, shedding, resisting dirt adhesion etc but will report back. 3 year protection warranty on it too! :joy::joy:think that’s well expired by now though! No pics as neighbour engaged the services of a mobile valeter who started spraying liquids all over the place so promptly put the car in the garage!

Ah yes, forgot to mention the eager turn-in

Yes, Rob is very good - I’ve never known anyone be as communicative and the quality of his Delrin machined bushes is first rate.

Highly recommended.

Thanks pal, it’s a great wee unit. Have been really impressed with it!

Fitted a SmartTop controller to my ND, now the roof:

  • Goes up when you click up
  • Goes down when you click down
  • Performs the whole action without you finger on the button
  • Works over 6mph
